About this Cook
I'm a 20-something grad student from Chicago recently married to my high school sweetheart. I grew up vegetarian my husband grew up in a meat and potatoes family, so I strive to find ways to prepare meals that taste great to both of us.
My favorite things to cook
Healthy but delicious food that people (especially my husband!) would never guess is light, such as pork tenderloin roasted over root vegetables or seafood with coconut curry

Crab Wonton Cups
I followed the recipe to a tee, but found that something just didn't taste right-- I added about a 1/2 teaspoon of sugar (I find that canned crab lacks the sweetness that fresh seafood usually has) and that made a huge difference.

Baked Dijon Salmon
I really enjoyed this recipe, but I think it's difficult to rate because its outcome is so variable depending on the quality of the fish and the strength of the mustard you use. For example, as I live in France and dijon mustard here is much stronger than it is in the US, i had to use more honey than recommended. Those of you who felt it was too fishy or that the sauce was too strong should really give it a second chance- you've just got to tweek the recipe according to the products you have available....

Vegetable Shepherd's Pie
Even after trying to spice it up according to taste, I found this dish to be very bland... Those of you who enjoyed this recipe, what type of tomato sauce and frozen veggies did you use?
