Italian Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2010
This dish is fantastic. It smells sooo good as it's cooking and did not disappoint. I did add garlic and additional Italian seasonings as suggested by other posters and it was just perfect. Thanks for the post.

Italian Sausage Soup II

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2008
This soup is very flavorful. I will try to save you some time and say that I agree with several other reviewers that the amount of pasta called for is excessive. I just cooked the pasta separately and put it in the bowl with the soup on top. The whole family loved it!

I loved this and so did my entire family. I added some bell pepper strips and water chestnuts. The sauce is fantastic and tastes very authentic. Thanks for the post.

Long Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2008
WOW -- This soup is unbelievably good. I did follow the advice of a few other reviewers and sauteed the ginger (plus extra ginger) and minced garlic along with the pork. Simple and delicious. My thanks for the post.

Harira

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2006
This is an unusual and very hearty stew. I used stew beef, as I was unable to get fresh lamb. I also substituted 2 cups of vegetable juice and reduced the water accordingly. I also omitted the pasta, egg, and lemon. It's fantastic without it. My family loves this! Thanks for the post.

Fish Chowder

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2006
This recipe is outstanding. I made a few substitutions, according to what I had on hand. I used one pound of imitation crab meat and 1 12 oz. can of clams. I substituted half and half for the evaporated milk. In addition to crispy bacon and a few drops of hot sauce, I also added a bit of shredded cheddar. We all loved it! Thanks so much for the post Amy.

No Name Orange Roughy

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2006
How about It's Perfect and It's Easy Orange Roughy? I can't believe how good this was, especially given that it took only 30 minutes. Very good flavor and a nice new way to fix a healthy meal. Thanks Christopher

Blackened Tilapia with Secret Hobo Spices

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2006
While I generally love blackened fish and meats, I really did not care for this dish at all. This is my first disappointment with a high-rated recipe on this site.

Braised Balsamic Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2005
First of all, I'm amazed to read that anyone thought this dish was bland. If you are a fan of balsamic vinegar, you will love it. My whole family loved it, including two boys, 10 and 7. They say it's "AWESOME!!" and I can't argue. I did have to cook longer than the stated time to get the sauce to thicken, but was it ever worth the wait. Thanks Beth for a fantastic recipe. This is absolutely fine restaurant quality!

Bacon Chicken II

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2005
I wholeheartedly agree with the other reviewers that the bacon needs to be cooked first. I just put fully cooked bacon on top the chicken breasts in the last 10 minutes of cooking and added slices of jack cheese. Very good.

Authentic German Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2005
This potato salad is quite good. My only complaint is that the sauce did not go far enough. I'll double it next time. We had these with barbequed ribs -- quite good!!

Barbequed Ribs

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2005
First of all -- Thank You Gail for this tremendous recipe. These ribs are worth every minute of effort. Because of the comments of several other reviewers about too much of a vinegar taste, I added about 3 extra tablespoons of brown sugar, as well as some tarragon and rosemary. Otherwise, I left 'em alone. I fixed these for my wife for a birthday dinner -- she loved them. So did the kids. I have never cooked ribs before, but with these, everyone will think you're an expert. Thanks again Gail!

Easy Caramelized Onion Pork Chops

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2005
This recipe is outstanding and so simple. I followed the advice of a few other readers and used two onions and beef broth in place of water. It was a major hit, even with picky kids! Thanks Pamela.

Simple Savory Pork Roast

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2005
Another simple, yet outstanding recipe. I had no fresh rosemary, so I simply crushed some dried leaves. I also cooked the roast longer than recommended in the recipe. Pork roast needs 20-25 minutes per pound at 350 degrees. Also, I think the roast is juicier if you cover it during cooking. Enjoy!

Calypso Turkey Tenderloins

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2005
This recipe was quite good. The whole family enjoyed it. The tenderloins I had were far to thin to cut and insert the sugar mixture into, so I found a lazy way to prepare it. Also, having no pirates in the house, we were out of rum -- so I used white wine. I just cooked the tenderloins in the broth and strained the broth. I then brought the broth to a boil and added the cornstarch. I then blended the remaining ingredients and poured them in with the broth. I then returned sliced pieces of cooked tenderloin to the skillet and covered and cooked slowly until the sauce was nice and thick.

Swiss Chicken Casserole II

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2005
This dish is so simple and very good! I use the ingredients as listed but I find it simpler to melt the butter in a large bowl in the microwave, then toss together before adding to casserole. I have yet to meet anyone who does not enjoy this dish. Everyone will want the recipe.
