Honey Grilled Shrimp

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2014
This was great exactly as written (I hate when people give recipes 5 stars after they've changed it). My husband has mentioned how good it was several times tonight. That is just NOT like him.

Dad's Favorite Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2014
Made exact to recipe, EXCEPT that I didn't refrigerate first. It was pretty dry and crumbly. After pressing with the fork, I had to reshape each cookie or they would have been in pieces. The texture of the cookie was like a shortbread cookie, it crumbled in our mouths, which was nice and tasty. It only made 28 cookies.

Chef John's Italian Meatballs

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2014
These were really, really good! Very tender. The only thing I did different was baked them for half the time then added them to my spaghetti sauce to finish cooking and add the meat flavors to my sauce. They made amazing meatball sandwiches the next night. I think even my Italian in-laws would love these! Thanks for the recipe.

My Best Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2014
I found this recipe to be just ok; sort of bland. I went ahead and added bacon to add some flavor. My son liked it.

Awesome Ham Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2014
Really different than anything I've made before. It was really good. My husband loved it. WAY too much dressing than we like but we just put what we didn't use in the fridge and made a whole other batch with the rest later. Also, didn't have sweet pickles so we used sweet relish instead. For added color, we used yellow tomatoes.

Beef Barley Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2013
I did not care for this recipe. I felt there was barely any flavor.

Fresh Peach Pie I

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2012
I followed the suggestion to use more sugar, less water, and more cornstarch. It set very nicely. I would cut back on the nutmeg next time; it was still delicious, I am just not used to that flavor in my fresh peach pie. Wonderful with vanilla ice cream.

Oven Fried Parmesan Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2011
O M G! Delicious! I prepared a full bag of chicken tenders this way. Very easy and Mmmmmm mmm mmm! The bread crumbs mixture made twice as much as needed so I made a double batch of chicken and just made another batch of the melted garlic butter.

Vegetarian Phad Thai

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2011
I agree that this was not like the Thai restaurant I go to but it was similar to their peanut sauce. I made it exactly as posted and rated it at 4 stars. It was way too peanut buttery for my liking so I had to add an extra 1/4 cup milk and 1/8 cup soy sauce. I thinly sliced a large chicken breast, baked it then added it and the resulting chicken broth to the sauce. It became 5 stars! Husband already requested that I make it again. (He never says that.) I will reduce the peanut butter next time and re-taste it before adjusting it again.

Sweet and Savory Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2011
I made this recipe exactly as written. It sounded like a lot of instruction at first but it really couldn't have been easier. I did not need to discard any of the juice at the end and added the BBQ sauce directly in with the meat. My husband really liked this and I thought it was good but we have never had Pulled Pork before so I don't know how it rates among other recipes.

Stir Fried Pasta with Veggies

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
Too dry and bland as written. I had to add chicken broth and another tbl soy sauce. I also added some ginger and 1 tbl of corn starch to the chicken broth to thicken the sauce a little.

Day-After-Thanksgiving Turkey Carcass Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2010
Followed this recipe exactly except for cutting back to 1 1/2 cups rice based on others' comments. At first I thought I should have kept it at 2 cups because it was very brothy but as it sat to cool down it thickened up quite a bit.

Herb Turkey Rub

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2010
This was a huge hit with my family. I wasn't able to make it as directed because I only had dried rosemary and thyme so I put in 1 Tbl of each; didn't have white wine Worcestershire so used 1/8 cup of regular Worcestershire; AND I didn't have a small food processor so I couldn't blend it so I used 1 tsp regular salt instead of coarse kosher salt. It was still delicious even though I'm sure it would have been better as posted. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. :)

Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookies

OMG! Ran out of filling but it made about 3 dozen cookies and only had enough filling for 30 cookies spread thinner than I wanted, but still AMAZING cookies.

Freezer Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2010
This soup was just OK. Not much flavor. So, I've rated it on the exact recipe. However, I cooked up a pound of italian sausage and poured in a bag of frozen vegetables to the entire amount of the recipe and was perfect, 5 stars. The family LOVED it.

Irish Cream Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2010
I made this exactly as posted. Very nice flavor and very moist. I thought there was plenty of irish cream flavor. As far as the glaze, it thickened as it cooled so I poured it slowly, a little at a time. After all of the glaze was used, I used a brush to pull the glaze that fell to the plate back up and just kept brushing it up the sides until there was very little left on the plate. Beautiful. Will definitely make again.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2010
This was incredibly fast and easy. I thought it was lacking something so I added 2 cups of frozen corn. I had trouble getting the milk/flour/butter to thicken in the sauce pan, probably because I had doubled the recipe, but it did thicken when I added it to the potatoes and heated longer. It was definitely a good potato soup and will make again.
