About this Cook
I'm a full time teacher, student, wife, and mother. When I get spare time, which is very seldom, I like to try new recipes and cook for family and friends.
My favorite things to cook
I have always loved to bake. I guess I can say I started off baking. I love to make fruit salads, homemade icecream, cookies, dump cake and brownies. My favorite meals to cook are casseroles, but unfortunately my husband doesn't like casseroles:(. I also enjoy making stirfrys. I love vegetables! I also love chicken, so I cook a lot with chicken. I do not like red meat so I am always trying to reinvent chicken so my family doesn't get tired of it. I also love to cook with shrimp. I love to make pastas and mexican food probably the most. My favorite Mexican dishes are chicken tacos, breakfast burritos and veggie quesadillas.. I also love to make guacamole and salsa.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom and I always bake up tons of treats during the holidays and deliver them to family and friends. On my husband's side they always do potlucks for family parties so I look forward to those because I will try an Allrecipe recipe to see how everyone rates it.
My cooking triumphs
I am famous for my brownies, salsa, and chocolate cherry cake. Lets just say my old co-workers were sad to see me go! ;)
My cooking tragedies
One of my first meals was making homemade pizza. I was only about 13. I tried making the dough and it can out horribly. I didn't cook again for 8 years. I have also had more than one tragedy when using my slow cooker. The first time I tried stuffed bell peppers. I didn't know to add liquid at the bottom so the peppers were burt to a crisp, opps! I still don't know why everyone says they are so easy to use.

World's Best Lasagna
I followed the recipe, the only modification was that I used dried parsley instead of fresh. Not sure if it made much of a difference, because it was still delicious!

Pasta Primavera with Italian Turkey Sausage
My hubby made this for company. You know it's a crowd pleaser when your guests go back for seconds. It was a little too spicy for me, so when we make this again I will use less red pepper.

Dirt Cake I
Delicous! Served a large crowd AND had a ton leftover. Next time I make this I will 1/2 the recipe.
