We have southern roots, so I make a lot of dishes from the south and midwest, good old fashioned comfort foods....
My cooking triumphs
my fried chicken is one of my best efforts..also my shrimp curry is a family favorite and my best dessert is my strawberry trifle. My best cake is a sour cream chocolate cake and I make a really good cheesecake.
My cooking tragedies
Pie crusts are my downfall...can't ever seem to get a tender, flaky one. However, I just learned how to make them in the food processor and wow, what a difference...turn out good each time !!!!

Boudreaux's Zydeco Stomp Gumbo
This recipe is teriffic!!!! I used the real cajun sausage and added a package of frozen cut up okra. Served with good ole cornbread. Serve over rice and I guaranteeeee it will be a winner. Thank you so much for this wonderful addition to my recipes!

The Best Potato Salad
This is almost exactly like I make my potato salad, however, I haven't used the pepproccinis, but I do add about 1 cup diced celery and use Lawry's seasoned salt. I have always had great compliments on my potato salad and it's really great to know someonelse makes one that's liked so well. I actually have to give my grandmother the accolades as this was her recipe and she was a fantastic cook.....

American-Italian Pasta Salad
This is a great pasta salad. I made a few modifications for personal taste. I added 1 cup chopped red roasted peppers, 1/2 cup sliced green pimento stuffed olives and 3/4 cup shredded parmesan-romano cheese and increased the dressing to keep it from being too dry. I make this salad all the time and everyone loves it. Thanks for the recipe !
