Bacon Wrapped Smokies
This was really good, but I don't know if it was "worth the trouble" good. Two things I did to cut back on the grease factor that I don't think anyone has mentioned. One, with little smokies I've ALWAYS boiled those before putting in any type of sauce, and boiled them for this recipe as well - you'd be amazed how much grease boils out. Two, on the bacon, I partially cooked it in the microwave (between sheets of paper towels) to speed the cooking process and cut back on some of the grease. As others recommended, I tossed the smokies in a ziplock bag with the brown sugar, and also dredged the bacon in the brown sugar.
All the guys loved it!
