Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2005
These were one of the best recipes I've tried. The only problem was my own fault. Make sure you mix till smooth! I left the batter a little lumpy and kept biting into little lumps of baking powder. At one point a lump got stuck in my tooth and I started gagging from the taste. Like I said, this was my own fault. I'll try it again and maybe next time change it to a 5 star. They were fluffy and buttery. Very close to the restaraunt style that I'm looking for. Now I just want to find out how they make the restaraunt ones crispy?

Easy Meatloaf

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2005
My husband loves this recipe. I also just made it for a friend who just lost a family member and had a lot of guests at her house. They all loved it, as well. It's very easy to put together with simple ingredients. I also had no problem turning it into a meal for a lot of people.

Delilah's Frosted Cut-Out Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2005
I made these three times over the holidays. Each time I either used butter only, butter flavored shortening only, or a combo of the two and all batches came out delicious! I split the batch in half, wrapped each ball in wax paper, then put in the freezer to harden. That way I only had to take one ball out at a time to do the rolling and cutting, and I didn't have a problem with the dough softening. Also, don't be afraid to use plenty of flour for the rolling. I was generous and my cookies still came out soft. In fact they got softer as a few days went by. I will be using this recipe for many years to come. Thanks, Delilah

Spicy Mexican Torte

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2005
If your family doesn't like spicy just use ground beef seasoned with salt and a little cumin and omit the chilis and red peppers. Without the peppers I end up using 6 tortillas. I also spread the beans on two tortillas and sprinkled cheese on the beans. My kids do not like beans, but they love this recipe and always clean their plates!
