I learned to cook at a very young age. The first thing I learned to cook was white ric which mother wrote the recipe for me to follow. I was 9 years old!
Today I work in a auto dealership and I love to cook for the guys. My husband says that we have our own private restaurant at home. Today I experiment with recipes giving them my own special stamp. My dream someday would be to own a small cafe, but I still am not confident of my cooking to that extreme!
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook and create new recipes. Usually I will read a recipe and change it completely, just got an idea and let my imagination run wild. Pasta, seafood, rice, asian cooking, soups and most of all frittatas which is my favorite.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Our favorite meal on New Years day when the family gathers. We pitch in to cook the traditional Arab Eggplant stew!
I learned the recipe from a lady on a island many years ago and ever since it became a must for reviving the spirits.
My cooking triumphs
I feel that at this point in my life where I can express my love thru cooking is the one truimph in my life!
My cooking tragedies
Don't know which one was worst as I had a few. My First meal for my husband.
This was the first meal I cooked on my own. I wanted to make something special from his homeland. Well everything came out burned and salty. The worst part was that he ate it all!!! The other experience was I cooked a fish in tomato sauce. When I served the fish I saw my husband spitting something out of his mouth. He loveling said that I had forgotten to do something. I didn't know then you had to clean the fish and remove the scales. That was a total disaster.
