About this Cook
I have a wonderful husband and a great, brand-new son. I love my family above all else and, though it's really tough to find time to do so, I like to make them happy by cooking.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook are desserts, cakes, cookies, anything that is put in an oven, is sweet, and people will love you for.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My cooking tradition includes more eating than it does cooking. My family all lives close to one another and, every sunday, we all get together at my grandmother's and eat... a lot! Mostly fried food, everyone brings something and everyone gets full and chatty and happy.
My cooking triumphs
Cookies. I experiment a lot and often forget what I did. When I bring cookies to a get-together, everyone is always tentative to eat my cookies because they know that I seldom use recipes. But, once they try them, they're gone in, literally, minutes!
My cooking tragedies
This is lame, but I really get mad when my eggs "over-easy" don't turn out as easily as I thought. I've been known to throw some temper tantrums over this.

Shortbread Cookies II
Easy to make, works great in a press, makes LOTS of cookies, and tastes AWESOME! My kind of recipe. Just gotta make sure that you watch the oven. I baked mine for 7:30 on a dark pan and for 9:00 on one lined with silicone. YUM!

Chapaleles
When I saw this, it reminded me of the "tortas de papa" my grandma makes, but hers don't have chicharrones or flour in them... I made them and OH MY GOSH! So much better than that! I mean, texture and consistency are different, but they are delish. How are these usually eaten, by the way? Ours are put in a spicy caldo, so that's what I did. Did I mess them up?

Peanut Butter, Apple, and Cheddar Pies
Thank you!!! My son gobbled it right up and my husband wants me to keep a bunch on hand to take to work for snacks!
