Ricotta Cake

Reviewed: May 31, 2011
My whole family loved this cake. It is very moist and has just the right amount of sweetness. I followed the recipe exactly, except that I added a teaspoon of almond extract to the ricotta mixture, and served with whipped cream and fresh berries. The ricotta did not fall to the bottom for me, but fell to the middle which was perfect.

Crispy Rosemary Chicken and Fries

Reviewed: May 20, 2011
Simple, tasty. Per others' suggestions, I started the potatoes cooking first and added cut up, seasoned chicken breast after about 40 minutes.

Braised Balsamic Chicken

Very tasty. I added mushrooms and served with a baked potato, but next time I will serve with rice to soak up the juice.

Spanish-Style Chicken and Sausage

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2011
Very tasty. I left out the olive oil and used one can of diced tomatoes instead of fresh. I also used regular rice which I cooked separately and then mixed in at the end, so I didn't need the bouillon or water. Will definitely make again.

Robin's Quinoa with Mushrooms and Spinach

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2010
I would give this 3.5. It's quite tasty but not out of this world, and a bit time consuming. Given how little time I usually have to cook, I probably will not make this very often but I will make it again.

Garlic Chicken Sausage and Summer Vegetable Saute

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2010
Very tasty - didn't have zucchini so used more mushrooms and onion. Sauted polenta in a little olive oil which made it crispy on the outside, creamy inside. Next time will put in sausage together with the onions and peppers and leave out the oil.

Marinated Baked Pork Chops

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2010
Surprisingly tasty and unbelievably easy. I only used 1 tb oil and may not use any at all next time. I will also cut down a little on the brown sugar.

Oma's German Marble Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2010
This makes a delicious cake - very light and just a touch of sweetness. I cut the flour down to 3 cups, cut the sugar down to 1.5 cups, added 2 tsp. of vanilla and used unsweetened cocoa powder.

No Bake Chocolate Oat Bars

These weren't terrible, but lots of cookies or bars I'd rather eat instead. Not a lot of flavor.

Chicken Monterey

Very tasty. I used about half as much olive oil as the recipe called for butter, skipped the celery salt and added about 1 tsp. Italian seasonings.

Cake Mix Cookies IV

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2008
I really did not care for these. I found them to have a strange flavor. I made them because I had a cake mix I wanted to use up, but I wish I would have made cupcakes instead.

Gobble Up Granola Snacks

I really didn't care for these. I found them too sweet as a granola bar, and not satisfying as a cookie.

Roasted Chicken with Risotto and Caramelized Onions

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2006
This was delicious. It did take a long time. I seasoned the chickened breasts with thyme and boiled them, then used the bouilon for stock (I had to add a bit of water and one bouillon cube to get 5 1/2 cups). I used 2 onions and next time will try 3. I skipped the butter, it was plenty rich without it.
