Fried Mozzarella Cheese Sticks

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2005
These were a little messy when dipping and coating, but they were tastey. I used block mozzarella and sliced into 1/4" thick x 3/4" wide x 2-1/2" long pieces. Instead of Italian bread crumbs, I used a blender and chopped white toast into a fairly fine consistency. I added about 1/4 teaspoon of Italian seasoning to the bread crumbs. Don't deep fry too long or the coating will get too dark and the cheese will start to ooz. We dipped these in pizza sauce from a jar.

Best Barbequed Burgers

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2005
This recipe was good for a change in flavor. I left mine on the grill a little longer because I cook with indirect heat on a Holland grill. About 12 min. on each side. I didn't have any problems with the burgers falling apart while cooking.

Amish White Bread

This was excellent! There was a sweetness to the flavor that really set it off. We finished off a loaf in no time.

Hawaiian Sweet Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2005
This had a great flavor. I don't have a bread machine so I wasn't sure how to adapt this recipe. The dough was more "fluid" than I had expected. It did raise, but it flowed over my pan and made a mess. It made a bigger mess in the oven. Aside from the mess, it tasted good and I served it with a spinach dip. I exchanged the lemon flavoring for coconut.

Easy Beer Bread Mix

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2005
This is a very flavorful compact bread. I used 3 cups of self rising flour and omitted the all-purpose flour and baking powder. I served this with a spinach dip.

T. T.'s Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2005
These were really good. A co-worker commented that they looked store bought because they were so perfect in shape and color. I only used 1/2 the amount of chocolate chips. I first made 2 inch balls using a large cookie scoop but decided they made too large of a cookie to fit in my cookie jar so I scaled it down to 1 inch balls. Either way, they were really good.

Irresistible Irish Soda Bread

Very good. I've never had Irish Soda Bread so I'm not real sure what it is supposed to taste like, but this was very good and very easy to make.

Million Dollar Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2005
I think my expectations may have been set too high. I was really disappointed in the texture. The flavor wasn't bad, but my cookies turned out really crisp. I used real butter so I don't know if that made a difference.

These weren't bad. I'm still searching for the perfect burger. My husband said, "They're ok." I may make again.
