Whipped Butternut Squash

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2005
This was good, but tasted a lot like just having baked potatoes with sour cream. Family liked it but next time I will try it using PALS suggestions.

Margaritas on the Rocks

Holy smokes! These are definitely the best margaritas we've ever had...and definitely pack a punch. Careful, they go down soooo easy!

Blue Cheese and Pear Tartlets

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2005
Not a favorite...I served it at a party and it didn't go over well. I had doubled the pears but the blue cheese still overpowered them. The flavors didn't mix well during baking. You really have to be a lover of blue cheese to enjoy this one.

These eggs were perfect...moist and fluffy. No more dried out, tough eggs for us! Thanks!

Burrito Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2006
My family loved it, although I did leave out the olives and added 1 pkg of taco seasoning to give the beef a little more flavor. It did seem like it needed something else, though, so next time I will try adding the can of corn.

Warm Maple, Ham and Apple Coffeecake

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2006
This was good, but VERY sweet. It reminded me a lot of sticky buns. Not a coffee cake at all, but a nice change of pace from the usual casseroles and egg dishes.

Lemon Drop II

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2006
The first time I made these, I could have sworn they turned out ok. But this time they were just awful. I'm not sure what I did differently the first time, but this time I followed the recipe exactly and my husband actually poured his down the sink.

Excellent cole slaw. I followed the recipe exactly and it was perfect. I'm looking forward to making it again and trying the variations that others tried.

Almond-Crusted Halibut Crystal Symphony

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2006
This was ok. It was a lot of work for just an average meal. There was nothing bad about it, we just were not overly impressed. Really could not taste the almonds after adding the sauce, which is the part we were looking forward to.

Southern Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2006
I was really disappointed in this. I followed the directions exactly and the mustard flavor was so overpowering for us. I might try it again and leave out the mustard.

New Red Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2006
I've made this twice now and it has been excellent. My only change was omitting the eggs due to a food allergy, other than that it turns out perfect as is.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2006
This was delicious. My family does not particularly like fish and they all loved this and asked for seconds. The only substitution I made was garlic salt for the celery salt. It was outstanding!

Corn Chowder IV

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2006
This wasn't exactly what I was looking for, but it turned out ok. The flavors were good but a little on the bland side and I didn't like the thin consistency. I ended up adding cornstarch to try to thicken it but it was still pretty runny. The family ate it nontheless. Will try a different version next time.

Stuffed Pork Chops III

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2006
This was great! We were concerned about the stuffing not having enough flavor, so I added a little garlic powder, sage and thyme before stuffing the pork chops. Served it with the Baked Sweet Potatoes w Raisins & Pecans on this site and it made a delicious Fall dinner!

German Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2006
This is a great recipe, if you follow others' advice and add the extra broth. We have made this twice, once in the crock pot and once on the stove when we were short on time. We added cubed, cooked ham and a couple extra cans of chicken broth and it came out perfectly both times with excellent flavor. The family loves it.
