This isn't what I remember as a kid. For some reason, my mom's was always much creamier. This recipe is very small on portions and was starting to burn on low in my crock pot, so I had to turn the crock pot down to warm and when I added the cream cheese I turned the heat back up, but it just wouldn't blend. We had chunks of cream cheese floating through it, kinda gross. It was also VERY salty, despite not adding any extra salt. I followed the recipe exactly and it just did not remind me at all of the rich, creamy stroganoff I had as a kid. I won't be making this one again.
