Pleasant Pork Chops

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2007
I was a bit skeptical about this because we've never had pork like this but thought I'd try it anyway. It was great! The family loved it. I used the thick cut Costco pork chops they were delicious.

Linda's Lasagna

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2007
This came out perfect. I used regular Ricotta instead of the cottage cheese and just added a sprinkling of italian spices to the sauce. I love the layering with the ricotta all by itself. This will be our mainstay lasagne recipe now!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2007
I'm giving this a 4 because it tasted pretty good and was very easy to make. But we did adjust the recipe quite a bit. We added several spices suggested by other posters and also a 1/2 bag of frozen peas. I personally didn't care for the taste of the dumplings. They retain their packaged refrigerated biscuit flavor and I prefer the taste of actual dumplings. Overall the family loved it!

This was just ok for us and wasn't worth all the effort in preparing it.

Meatball Sandwich

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2006
I doubled the recipe for these and my husband has eaten the leftovers for 3 days straight! The only problem I found is that with doubling the recipe, I made larger meatballs and they did not cook through within 20 minutes. I had to keep returning them to the oven, but when they were finally done they were great! I especially like the added touch of toasting and seasoning the buns..don't skip this part as it is well worth it for your delicious meatballs to be on a hot, toasty bun!

Down Home Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2006
My kids loved this! I made it for my son's birthday since he wanted mac n cheese for his birthday dinner. I found it to be a little too gooey and I left off the bread crumbs, but overall the flavor is good it is a definite winner with the kiddos!

Artichoke Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2006
This was very good. I agree with one of the other reviewers that the chicken would have been better marinated first. But other than that it was very tasty and the chicken came out very tender and juicy.

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2006
This isn't what I remember as a kid. For some reason, my mom's was always much creamier. This recipe is very small on portions and was starting to burn on low in my crock pot, so I had to turn the crock pot down to warm and when I added the cream cheese I turned the heat back up, but it just wouldn't blend. We had chunks of cream cheese floating through it, kinda gross. It was also VERY salty, despite not adding any extra salt. I followed the recipe exactly and it just did not remind me at all of the rich, creamy stroganoff I had as a kid. I won't be making this one again.

Mexican Sour Cream Rice

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2006
This is a great recipe to accompany a mexican dinner. It does take a bit of work, but a nice change from the boxed variety of mexican rice. Very yummy!

Black Halloween Punch

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2006
We served this for our Halloween party with ice filled with gummi worms. It didn't really turn out black, but the kids enjoyed it just the same.

Tantalizingly Tangy Meatloaf

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2006
We've been looking for a good recipe for a glazed meatloaf as opposed to just putting ketchup on the top and this is it! It has excellent flavor and our family won't eat meatloaf any other way now!

German Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2006
This is a great recipe, if you follow others' advice and add the extra broth. We have made this twice, once in the crock pot and once on the stove when we were short on time. We added cubed, cooked ham and a couple extra cans of chicken broth and it came out perfectly both times with excellent flavor. The family loves it.

Stuffed Pork Chops III

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2006
This was great! We were concerned about the stuffing not having enough flavor, so I added a little garlic powder, sage and thyme before stuffing the pork chops. Served it with the Baked Sweet Potatoes w Raisins & Pecans on this site and it made a delicious Fall dinner!

Corn Chowder IV

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2006
This wasn't exactly what I was looking for, but it turned out ok. The flavors were good but a little on the bland side and I didn't like the thin consistency. I ended up adding cornstarch to try to thicken it but it was still pretty runny. The family ate it nontheless. Will try a different version next time.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2006
This was delicious. My family does not particularly like fish and they all loved this and asked for seconds. The only substitution I made was garlic salt for the celery salt. It was outstanding!

New Red Potato Salad

I've made this twice now and it has been excellent. My only change was omitting the eggs due to a food allergy, other than that it turns out perfect as is.

I was really disappointed in this. I followed the directions exactly and the mustard flavor was so overpowering for us. I might try it again and leave out the mustard.

Almond-Crusted Halibut Crystal Symphony

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2006
This was ok. It was a lot of work for just an average meal. There was nothing bad about it, we just were not overly impressed. Really could not taste the almonds after adding the sauce, which is the part we were looking forward to.
