Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2013
This has become my "go to" recipe for zucchini bread. I've now made it 4 times and each time it has turned out perfect. Moist and flavorful every time.

This was delicious. I hope we get enough rhubarb this year to make it again!

Banana Oatmeal Cookie

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2010
My kids have declared this their "new favorite cookie". Moist and delicious. We may add mini chocolate chips next time (although they certainly do not *need* them!).

White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies II

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2010
Exactly what we were looking for in a cookie recipe featuring macadamia nuts. Delicious! Had to cook a bit longer than specified... but I probably made them larger, too. :)

Cornbread Muffins I

Reviewed: May 6, 2009
Have made this recipe a couple of times. First in a cast iron skillet (however it never got done in the alloted time and was always raw in the middle), and then as muffins like the recipe called for. That was the way to go... This in an absolutely incredible recipe. Definite do over and over and over.

Double Quick Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2009
Simply the best. Super fast. Easy to make (my 11-year old daughter makes them). We have also used garlic powder (in place of onion pwdr) and really liked that.

Light Oat Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2009
This bread is really good. Baked a loaf yesterday and the family enjoyed it so much, we decided to make another loaf today. It was so easy, that my 11-year old daughter made it.

Soft Garlic Breadsticks

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2009
These were absolutely wonderful and the whole family agreed they were better than you get at a restaurant. Very light and fluffy, not dense at all.

Double Chocolate Biscotti

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2008
My husband actually made this in Dec. '07 "just because", and I don't usually have biscotti. But as it turned out, this is an awesome recipe. He had friends and relatives requesting that he make lots more. This is a definite do over and over and over ..

Beef Fajitas

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2008
Made this for my family for dinner. Substituted the lemom juice/zest for lime juice/zest. Would love to have marinated this overnight, but didn't have time. Only marinated for about 20 minutes and it came out very flavorful. Definate do over.

Grandma's Lemon Meringue Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2008
My son requested Lemon Meringue Pie for his 8th birthday this year. Didn't read reviews/comments so made it as directed. Flavor was good (he gave it 2 thumbs up). My only complaints were that the filling seemed sparse in the 9" pie crust and that there was a layer of liquid when we cut into the pie. I might read some of the tips and make a few alterations next time. Overall, though, this was a good recipe.

Grandma Johnson's Scones

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2008
By far the BEST scones we've tried. They tasted like something you'd get at a restaurant or bakery. I was concerned the dough would be too dry when it came time to knead it on the counter, so I ended up just taking off my rings and working it with my hands in the bowl which worked just fine. We decided to use craisins ~ very good! These were the highlight of Father's Day! Thank you for sharing such an incredibly delicious recipe!!!

Orange Cilantro Rice

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2008
We really enjoyed this recipe. Easy to prepare. Went great with Mandarin Orange Chicken. Gave a 4-star due to the fact we cooked it for the amount of time stated and it was slightly crunchy. Will increase cooking time next time around, but we will definitely be saving the recipe to make again.

Fresh Rhubarb Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2008
Mmm! Grew up eating rhubarb but hadn't had it in years. Got a craving for it and asked around until I found someone willing to give us a supply of it. My "normal" would be another fruit mixed with the rhubarb and a cobbler instead of a pie. Opted for this only because it saved me a trip to the store since all ingreds were on hand. I am SO GLAD I stepped outside my norm as this was a delicious recipe! Got thumbs up all around the table... even the picky child loved it and asked if we could plant rhubarb just for the purpose of making this pie. A definite winner!

Brazilian White Rice

Even the one picky eater of the family liked this recipe. I was just out for a recipe that was a change of pace and I think instead I found a new family staple. Thanks for a great recipe!

Famous Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2008
Very moist chicken. Good flavor. Even the picky "littles" liked it. I would probably give it more like a 4 1/2, but that wasn't an option. After reading several reviews, I did use only 1/2 stick of butter and it turned out just fine.

French Breakfast Puffs

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2008
The entire family LOVES these. Recipe is wrong. Do *not* sift the 1/2 cup sugar in with the dry ingredients. Make sure it gets left out to cream with the shortening. These are moist and delicious and YUMMMMMMMY!

Soft Breadsticks

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2008
Our family thought these were wonderful. We did alter the recipe slightly and sprinkled them with garlic salt and parmesan cheese prior to baking. My husband used 1/2 stick of butter (4 Tbl.) in the pan instead of 3.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2008
Wonderful recipe! I took the advice of others and used OJ instead of water. Subtle flavor, but very yummy. I did have to add about 1/4 - 1/2 c. additional flour.
