Asiago Sun-Dried Tomato Pasta

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2012
I followed the suggestion of others and added more asiago. It was way too strong and the sun dried tomatoes were too overpowering. Parmesan cheese as a substitute would have been perfect and not using the tomatoes.

Strawberry Mojito

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2012
OMG!! These were wonderful! I made them for a party and had to keep making pitchers of them because they were such a hit. I did put a few mint leaves, strawberrries and lime in the blender to speed up the processes and it turned out great! My dad - who hardly drinks - had 4 because they were so wonderful!

Old Settlers' Baked Beans

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2012
Wonderful! I made them for a birthday party and they got rave reviews. I did crisp the bacon up by itsself and did a combo between ground beef and sausage. Since I doubled the recipe I switched 1 can to butter beans for variety.

Asian Lettuce Wraps

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2011
Wow! A big hit when I had everyone over for Christmas eve. Abosolutely fab! I used the sauce that some other reviewer wrote to serve them with (1 tsp seasame oil, 2 T rice vinegar, 1 T chili paste, 2 T soy sauce). I am going to try it with ground chicken next(found it near the ground beef at the grocery store)so it will be more like P.F. Changs. A keeper.

French Toast Bake

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2011
I have made the other recipe for baked French Toast with Peaches and it has always been wonderful. Decided to try this one for Christmas breakfast. I did not have blueberries on hand so used raisins as others did. No flavor, and soggy bread. I also cooked it for much longer than it said and it was still wet (almost an hour). What probably would work is to cut the liquid in half. Perhaps that would save this.

Corn and Black Bean Salad

OMG! Wonderful recipe. I did use the whole can of corn like one other user suggested. A winner.

The Best Chicken Fried Steak

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2010
I don't normally rate anything this low but it was a flop from start to finish. I followed the recipe exactly. You could not batter them first then fry or the flour started to get gummy requiring you to flour again. The gravy was way too greasy tasting so I added cream of mushroom soup to add some taste. My husband said, you usually have winner dinners but this one was not that good. So true!

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2009
OH MY GOSH!!!! Absolutely delicious! My 5 year old will eat hardly anything for dinner and gobbled this up and said that Mommy was a good cook (the sign of a really good recipe). I added Guinness, Montreal Steak Seasoning and a few dashes of Worstershire Sauce per others suggestions. A definite keeper.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2009
Excellent roast. It was tender and could be cut with a fork. I added a little Montreal Steak Seasoning as a rub.

Although very tasty, I think the cook times are off. Mine came out shredded.

Hawaiian Banana Nut Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2008
Excellent recipe! It was so moist and delicious and the coconut and pineapple are a great addition. I am thinking that I might use macadamia nuts the next time to really give it that Hawaiian flavor.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
Ugh! I usually agree with the overall rating but this recipe was just not right. I used some of the suggestions from other reviews - blue cheese and layering - and it just was icky. I made it for a party and the people that are usually excited to eat my appetizers thought it was just strange. I think you have to use diced chicken instead - it might improve matters. Great idea but lost something in the translation.

Holiday Bean Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2006
It was pretty for the holidays but I think that I was the only person at Thanksgiving Dinner that appreciated the lima beans. I will stick to my usual recipe of green beans with almonds the next time.

Sweet Potato Casserole IV

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2006
A wonderful receipe. I made this for Thanksgiving and my mother-in-law made her version. My recipe won hands down (not that I am counting :) I used 1/2 and 1/2 instead of the evaporated milk. The only thing I would change would to put it in a larger dish so I could double the recipe for the topping because people really liked that part of it. The family thought it was the best recipe for sweet potatoes ever!

Pan-Fried Asparagus

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2005
I just love this recipe! When I make this my husband will eat almost two huge bunches. You can add quite a bit more asparagus than the receipe calls for and it will still turn out.

Brie Cheese Appetizer

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2005
This is a wonderful and elegant appetizer. I made it for a Christmas party and people thought I went to so much trouble. I used the herbed cheese which I thought would be nice. It really complemented the Brie. Will serve this dish again.
