Blonde Brownies I

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2014
Yum! I followed advice - doubled the recipe and baked in 9x13. I also only used a heaping cup of chocolate chips and felt it was enough. Kids loved them - though they said most kids would like them even better without the walnuts as kids generally don't like nuts in cookies. ;-)

Made as described excpet had to use crushed garlic instead of powder as powder had gone bad. Pasta was done well before all absorbed. Very bland.

Hamantashen

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2011
WONDERFUL! Best Hamantashen I have ever made or eaten! I used butter. I also used the suggestion for putting them int he freezer - they came out absolutely beautiful! I made half with canned Solo apricot filling. The other half with homemade prune filling (cook on stovetop, 1 cup of chopped prunes, 1/3 cup water, 1 TBS lemon juice, ~2 TBS of honey - cook down until a paste consistency).

A friend made this and it was so yummy. Veggies- add shredded carrot,a little red oninon, cilantro? chopped bell peppers, chinese cabbage, radichio. Use buckwheat soba noodles-cook ahead-drain, use some sesame oil to keep them from sticking together." subbed. in orange juice for lemon.

Baked Zucchini

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2009
followed recommendation to use olive oil to make it healthier and garlic. I also used dried oregeno as I did not have fresh. Only problem with this recipe is I did not make enough - at least for me! YUMMY! However I like zucchini. Was not a hit with my 4 year old, the 2 year old liked it. I know, I know. I hafte when people review who did not follow the recipe as written, but I think it would have been great no matter what!

I made this exactly as it said. The consistency of the sauce was good, but it just wasn't very flavorful... only okay. Will not make again.

Pumpkin Pancakes

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2008
Excellent.. better then ones we have had in restaurants. I did use a few of the suggestions... used 2 eggs, 1 TBS cinn, 1 tsp ginger and ? 1/2 tp nutmeg. I used canned pumpkin. I did the dry ingrediants first and then mixed the wet ones in the food processor. Then I added the dry into the food processor. I also used a spoon to spread them out on the griddle. Thanks so much!

Sugar Coated Pecans

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2008
I made these with mixed nuts, doubled the cinn and they came out excellent. (I did the egg white and vanilla mixture and kept adding nuts until they were all evenly coated (probably 1.5lb) and then added the sugar mixture - less stuff to clean!). Only item at a potluck which was completely gone! Everyone thought they were store bought! When I said I made them everyone asked for the recipe. Next time I made with Splenda - very good, nice coating, but not as good as with the real sugar.

These were great. I did not have cooked chicken... so, I marinated in Lawrys Baja Chipolte and cooked on a griddle. I served with gaucamole and salsa. Would make again - though I want to add pineapple next time.

Spinach with a Twist

My husband thought this was okay. I did not care for it. I followed the recipe and added garlic based on another recommendation. Even with the garlic and cheese I did not think it had enough flavor.

Strawberry Spinach Salad II

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2007
Made this for dinner for my inlaws last night - big hit! I would definitely make it again! My husband is a diabetic so I replaced the sugar with Splenda. I did not have poppyseeds, so I skipped those. I did add gorgonzola. Next time I think I might add some candied pecans as well. I used ~ 2/3 bag of fresh spinach. I made 1/2 the dressing and probably only used 1/2 of what I made.
