My favorite things to cook
Because I live in the midwest and am subjected to COLD winters, I LOVE making stews, soups and chili, alomst any comfort food that fills up the tummy and keeps me and my family warm an satisfied.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family and I enjoy eating tamales and posole (traditional mexican soup) during the holidays.
My cooking triumphs
My ultimate goal is always to satisfy those that I cook for, but I'll admit, I'm ALL about presentation! I take great pride in making sure the table is set right, and each dish has a professional touch. Have been complimented many times...feels good!
My cooking tragedies
None...yet. However, it's always a bummer when I look forward to making a dish and turns out bland or I'll LOVE it and my hubby gives it a thumbs down.

Dave's Low Country Boil
WOW! We took a chance and made this for the first time a big crowd of freinds and they LOVED IT! We added mussels, lemons, onions, garlic, beer LOTS of old bay, cajun seasoning and tabasco sauce. Took a liitle longer than 30 mins (i used larger taters), but overall fantastic. Oh, we used a turkey fryer and only added half of the crab legs to the boil and aggreed we perfer our crab legs steamed. Again, overall great recipe.

Caramel Popcorn
This was just ok for me. It was alot of work and I LOVE working in the kitchen, but the end result was worth all the fuss. BTW, you must work FAST when pouring the syrup onto the popcorn. It hardens fast.

Key Lime Cheesecake I
Not bad at all. I took the advise of many an added another 8 ounce of cream cheese and I wished I hadn't. It took away from the keylime flavor. However, I did use a can of condensed milk instead of eggs, etc. Perhaps that altered the taste as well? Will make again and stick to recipe as written.
