Big Ed's Cajun Shrimp Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2006
This is a really great recipe with a lot of good ideas from other reviewers! I chose to use a 28oz can of diced tomatoes instead of the juice and water, added a can of clams, 1/4 cup of green pepper and 1 cup of rice instead of the half cup. I wish I would've just added the half cup though cause it ended up being more like a jambalya instead of soup! Still a great recipe and will for sure make again.

Cream of Mushroom Soup I

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2006
Loved it! LIke many others though, I ended up putting it through my food processor and wished that I hadn't. I think maybe I should've just done half that left the rest of the mushrooms just diced small by hand. All in all...fantastic!

Sourdough Tomato Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2006
This was a fantastic bread! My starter isn't very strong so it didn't really taste very "sourdoughy" but I added 1 tsp of dried minced onion (next time I'll add 1 Tbsp), some italian seasoning and sundried tomatoes (don't forget to blanch in boiling water first if using dried) and it turned out wonderfully!

Beef Stew VI

Reviewed: May 22, 2005
Honestly, I'd have to say that this was the best beef stew I'd ever had. I always try to make it and it never quite turns out how I want but this really was great! Thanks for the recipe.

Southern Mushroom Soup

This was great! My fav mushroom soup I've tried so far. I added 3 cups of mushrooms and rough chopped half of them and used the food processor for the rest.

Pita Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2006
I loved these! I changed my serving size to four and doubled the spices except the cayenne, salt and pepper. I also added 3/4 cup of salsa to make it a little saucier. It was soooo good, especially with the avocado. Too spicy for the chilluns but I gave them plain chicken instead. Yummmm!

Bob's Mexican Stuffed Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2006
If I could give this 10 stars I would!! This was a HUGE hit with my family and I even forgot a step (adding salsa to the topping before baking). I only used green pepper cause that was all I had and as per another reviewers suggestion, I used crushed tortilla chips instead of corn flakes. As well instead of packaged fajita seasoning I used Taco Seasoning I from this site. This is a MAJOR keeper...Thanks Bob!!!!

Chocolate Mint Cookies I

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2007
Great idea! I used a different cookie recipe (caramel filled chocolate cookies from this site) and topped them with the Andes mints as well as After Eights. Both worked but the Andes were creamier! AWESOME!!

My Crab Cakes

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2006
I really loved these! I doubled up on the crab and didn't have any Ritz crackers on hand so I just used 5 oz. of crushed soda crackers. Also I didn't have any Old Bay...we don't have it here so I just ommitted it all together and it still turned out wonderfully. I only wish I would've made more since I only got 4 patties even after doubling up on the crab. Awesome!

Tartar Sauce I

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2006
This was excellent! I made it in the morning and let it marinade for the day. I served it as a side for 'My Crab Cakes' (from this site) and the result was so amazing!! It's better than store bought in my opinion.

Wonderful! So light and fluffy and a hint of sweetness. Also very easy and quick compared to some other breads I make. Will make again and again.

Italian Dressing Mix

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2006
Very good!! The only thing...too much salt. I just added a tablespoon and I found it was still a little too much. Next time I'll just add a half a tablespoon. Yummy!

Sarge's EZ Pulled Pork BBQ

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2006
Very good! I used a pork loin roast and hardly had any fat like others were complaining of with the other cuts. I seasoned with garlic and added a half cup of brewed coffee although I'm not really sure what it did for the meat. After cooking, I poured off the broth (freezing it to use later), shredded the meat and added a homemade BBQ sauce then put it back in the slow cooker on low for half an hour. Very tasty!

These are super good! I have done a few variations and added different things like seeds or spices but I always use a combination of both white and kamut flours and they are great every time.

Best Hamburger Ever

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2005
Sooo good! I took others advice and tweaked the recipe by only adding the pouch of onion soup mix and not the chopped onion and leaving out the rosemary. Also I didn't have any worcestershire and I used cheddar cheese and it turned out awesome!! For a little extra kick I added a splash of cayenne pepper sauce...YUMMY! Great recipe.

Garlic Butter

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2006
Yum! I halved the recipe and used garlic salt with salted butter and had no problems with it being too salty. It's just personal taste I guess.
