Baked French Fries II

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2006
Nice but definitley add garlic salt and use olive oil instead of cooking spray. A nice light-tasting fry.

Smothered Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2006
Pretty good but next time I'd use a little less garlic...which is weird cause I LOVE garlic. I found though that it was too overpowering in this particular recipe. Also I'll try beef broth instead of chicken, but overall a good recipe. One more thing, watch it carefully or you'll overcook the chops like I did.

Hot Mexican Spinach Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2006
This is awesome!!! What a nice change from the old tried and true spinach dip! I would suggest making sure your cream cheese is diced small so it melts better and you need a bit more than just 15 minutes but all in all...very good!

Peppermint Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2006
This recipe was ok. I too added 1 tsp of peppermint extract to give it a bit more flavour but to me it just tasted like melted chocolate chips...which is ok, if you like them a lot. I gave this recipe 4 stars because my husband LOVED them but personally I just thought they were ok.

Buzzsaw's BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2005
Good and easy! All I did differently was to mince the onions like another reviewer suggested and add a bit more garlic. Great sauce!

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2005
This icing is great! Make sure you don't use no name cream cheese...at least I didn't think it tasted as good as the name brand stuff. Great stuff!

Best Carrot Cake Ever

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2005
Super moist and very tasty. I suggest using more spices like other reviewers. Definitaly use at least a tsp. of nutmeg and at least 1/2 tsp. of ground cloves. The pineapple is a nice touch as well and you can't even taste it (for those who are wondering).

Mexican Chicken I

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2005
Very tasty! A great way to get a high fibre meal into a very picky family! I cut back the cumin to 1 tbsp. and at the very end of baking I topped it with some mozza cheese. Will for sure be making again.

General Tsao's Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2005
As everyone else says...this recipe is wonderful! I too used about 3 Tbsp. of corn starch in the sauce and only half a cup to coat the chicken before deep frying. I also used 1 Tbsp. of red pepper flakes in lieu of dried chiles. Even my husband who doesn't like Chinese food liked this dish!

Restaurant-Style Potato Skins

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2005
I'm with everyone else on this...this recipe is fantastic!! The only thing I did differently was to add some chopped green onion to the cheese and bacon. You could even sprinkle some garlic salt on top. So fattening and delish!!!!

Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2005
I didn't do this the right way the first time. Silly me, I started adding ingredients before I read the whole recipe all the way through and realized that I should've warmed the oil and garlic first but I just mixed everything together! Anyway long story short it still came out pretty good and tonight I'm trying it this way (the right way) for chicken fingers!

Oven Baked BBQ Ribs

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2005
These were really nice. Like others, I reduced the oven temp...to 300 and wrapped the ribs tightly in foil after basting them with the sauce. I also first brought the sauce to a boil on the stove and then simmered for about 45 minutes before adding it to the ribs to thicken it up a bit. I only added 3 tsp. of dry mustard and about half the required worcestershire. Done this way they come out incredibly tender and yummy!

Sauce Rosee

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2005
This was a great sauce. My husband loved it and it's hard to get a reaction out of him. The only thing I would do differently next time is use fresh onion...I used dried. I also didn't use the wine. Yum!

Open-Faced Broiled Roast Beef Sandwich

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2005
So amazing! I wasn't able to toast the buns first so I just put the whole sub in the oven at 350 for about 10-15 minutes...just watch the cheese. Then I broiled for a few minutes, but be careful as the buns will burn quickly.

Good for You Greek Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2005
This was really great with a few minor tweaks. I looked over other greek salad recipes on this site and came up with the best dressing. Instead of 4 tsp. of lemon juice, add 3 and 1 tsp of red wine vinegar. For the salt and pepper, add 1/4 tsp of each. Also, add half a green pepper chopped, kalamata olives instead of black and it comes out amazing!

Pasta Shrimp Toss

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2005
Awesome! I too tripled the amount of whipping cream for the sauce but don't triple the flour. 1 tbsp. should still be enough but add just a tiny bit at a time if it's not otherwise you'll end up having to thin it out with water like I did. Also, a quick side note, if you use pre-cooked shrimp a way to keep them from getting rubbery is to just add them at the very end so they just warm instead of cook more.

Honey Nut Granola

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2005
Very nice! The good thing about this recipe is that you can really play with what you put in and how much. As per other reviewers suggestions, I used homemade applesauce but almost tripled the amount (ie. almost 1 cup) and halved the amount of honey. I also had to change the bake time to 200 degrees for an hour cause mine burnt a bit on the recommended temp. as it wasn't near done after 20 min. All in all, a great recipe and lots of good suggestions from others.
