I am a married mother of two boys and three perfect is that? I love everything family and am an active member of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints and guess I can throw in 3rd year nursing student as well!

I like simple, satisfying dishes but I enjoy lots of experimenting...too much sometimes according to my husband!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom always made everything by hand and I like to attempt to follow in her footsteps. Everything from breads to chocolates, I try it all!
My cooking triumphs
Uh, yeah right! I think "triumphs" may be too strong a word but I make pretty good bread and I've been known to have a few good recipes up my proverbial sleeve.
My cooking tragedies
LOTS! 1000 characters aren't nearly enough to name all my mistakes but that's the thing about cooking...there's always going to be hungry bellies to feed tomorrow so if at first you don't succeed, try, try again.

Winter Squash Rolls
Great bread but some needed tweaks! First of all, 2 packages of yeast is far too much....this is probably why people are getting gigantic buns :) 3 tsp is more than enough. Also with the addition of the cooked squash, it adds a lot more liquid and consequently 6 cups of flour turns into closer to 8. I cut the sugar to a 1/3 cup but you could get away with only a tablespoon if you wanted and added only 1tsp of salt. The temperature is best at 350 and I found even at that, they were done with excessive browning on the bottom of the bun by 25minutes. All that said, it was a GREAT idea and what a unique way to use up some of that yummy squash. Will for sure be making again!

Always A Winner Grilled Chicken
Pretty good but next time I would cut back on the cumin. I also felt that there were too many unnecessary complex flavors when it could've been just as good with only half the spices. Still, pretty good!

Amazing Southwest Cilantro Lime Mango Grilled Chicken Sandwiches
GREAT...but long as most all other reviewers state! This is how I cut back on time slightly: Marinated chicken as stated but added 1/4 olive oil and a dash of cayenne as I didn't have any jalapeno peppers on hand. Cooked in frying pan with red peppers and onions (too lazy to grill) and topped with the lime mayo and fresh salsa (yum) on a tortilla. I nixed the mango...didn't have but would like to maybe try next time and also on the french bread. Yummy!
