About this Cook
Hi. My name is Kathleen Marie. I am 17 yrs old and have recently found a passion for cooking. I like to help my parents cook in our kitchen at home and sometimes I go to my grandmother's house and help her cook too. There is just something about cooking that interests me. I'm not sure what, but it it fun to cook nonetheless. ;) I also love to try and cook new and/or weird things!
My favorite things to cook
Some of my favorite things to cook include Butternut Squash soup, Risotto, and smoothies.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Christmas my family makes twice-baked potatoes which are topped with cheese. My family calls them "cheesy-potatoes". I love to help make those. I have finally be "selected" to help prep the food during the holidays now, so I get to help with the process. Every christmas, we (my family) makes over 20 "cheesy-potatoes". It is so much fun and A LOT of hard work, but in the end its totally worth it.
My cooking triumphs
Even though i have just started to cook, i have had many "cooking triumphs". I am pretty decent at cooking so what may be a "triumph" to me, could be not so good to others. but i do have to say that i did succeed at making my first ever pies with homemade pie crusts. Both pies were very good...
My cooking tragedies
Yes. i have had tragedies. The first time I made a barley and lentils soup, it was HORRIBLE! I couldn't even eat it! it just looked and tasted really gross to me.. hopefully the next time I make it, it will taste better...

Basil Chicken over Angel Hair
made this for my dad because he can't have soy, milk, or gluten and everything in this recipe fit the list of what he can have! I did have to substitute rice pasta for regular pasta though! but he loved it! Great tasting recipe!
