Simple Whole Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2012
Wow...this came out PERFECT. The only thing I did different was to add a half-cup of vital wheat gluten along with the bread flour in the first step. Everything else, I did verbatim from the recipe. Soft, delicious, wonderful bread! Oh, and as some other reviewers pointed out, this recipe makes only TWO loaves of bread in standard loaf pans.

Pecan Chewies

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2010
Came out perfect the first time. Soft and gooey while still warm, then deliciously chewy the next day. I didn't have self-rising flour so I added baking powder and salt (the standard cheat). Excellent recipe; will definitely make again SOON!

Molasses Cookies

A contender for world's best cookie. Chewy, spicy, moist, sweet, rich... I usually go a little long on the spices for extra kick.

Mapled Ham

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2007
I used a can of Sierra Mist instead of water, and added the juice from the can of pineapple rings, as well. It came out PERFECT. Check the photos I posted! :)

Texas Sheet Cake VI

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2006
My Aunt Tinie, a lifelong Okie, passed away a couple years ago, and no one in the family has been able to give me her chocolate sheet cake recipe (though I DID inherit her sewing machine). I remember well going down to visit her and Uncle Homer... She almost always made a cake like this. I remembered hers having a slight tinge of cinnamon, so I added about 3/4 of a teaspoon to the recipe. It tastes almost spot-on. It baked perfectly in my oven and is so rich and moist... I brought a piece to work with me this morning for breakfast! (Last night, while it was still warm, I served it up with a scoop of coffee flavored ice cream.) Delicious! Delicious! Delicious! I couldn't be more pleased. Thanks for submitting this, Sister!

Brownie Oat Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2005
I thought these cookies were awesome! Must admit, though, that I did add a little more corn syrup to moisten the dry ingredients. Sifted some powdered sugar on top...yum, yum, yum! Good warm, but still chewy and tasty when cool. Try 'em!
