Easy Chili I

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2011
Awesome for being quick but the flavor wasn't there. It tasted like a can of tomato sauce with meat in it. So, I added quite a bit more seasoning to it. Hot sauce and even just a bit of hot sauce, beer and a little coffee! Delish! Thanks for the easiness of a quick dinner though!

This and That BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2010
This is a good base for a BBQ sauce. I found it to be too tangy & too sweet. I added quite a few things to it. Just to make it to my family style. I added fresh minced garlic, cracked black pepper, a little bit of coffee, a splash of red wine, a squeeze of grape jelly (I know! But it is good!) and a package of Lipton's Mushroom Onion soup mix. It toned it down and gave it a little more depth. While these flavors would seem to overwhelm and be crazy they come together nicely. Thanks for a great base!

Creamy Swiss Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2010
This is really good! Tried it because I wanted something new to do with chicken. At first I was scared with the amount of wine it calls for, but when you add the mustard it really comes together nicely. Don't over salt this dish because the seasoned croutons, add more salt and flavor. I only wish that it had MORE sauce. I think next time I make it, I will leave off some of the croutons. All those croutons soak up that delicious sauce! So overall MORE sauce and less croutons! Thanks for sharing!

Very good! Smells delicious while its cooking. Good comfort food for a cold, rainy day! Added extra veggies and made mine a bit spicier just for personal preference! Have a glass of light beer to help the burn! =)

Sugar Cookie Frosting

Good recipe for Sugar Cookies. I added a bit of real butter so it had that extra taste...but very good as it is. Dries hard and cookies turn out beautiful! Thanks for a great recipe.

WAY too sweet. Tastes like straight powdered sugar. Would overpower the sugar cookie. Not very good.

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2008
These were awesome! A wonderful "once a month" cookie for the ladies. =D~ I used mini semi sweet chips, peanut butter chips and some heath bits. I was cleaning out the baking cabinet and had a bit of each. I also used a half a cup of brown sugar in place of the white. Fabulous cookies! Thanks for sharing!

Blueberry Crisp II

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2008
Very easy! Very Tasty! I served this right out of the oven with vanilla ice cream. This is a really great dessert if you are short on time. Or just want a yummy treat! I thought the mayo was kind of a weird thing to put in here but...this was an all around great dessert. I will be making this often. You could really use any type of berries that you wanted and would be great. The ONE thing I would do differently is make extra topping! It so good with ice cream. Thanks for sharing! "Yum-O"!

Butter Cream Frosting II

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2008
Good recipe. I did modify it just a touch, because it was a bit sweet for my taste. I used butter in place of margarin, added a bit of lemon juice, more milk (just to thin it a tad), and added cocoa powder so it was chocolate. I don't like my frosting to over power my cake. I used this on a Chocolate Cake, with Cherry ice cream in the middle. It was fabulous. Thanks for sharing your recipe!

Pork Chops with Burgundy Mushroom Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2007
Great recipe! I used a Cabernet, I like to cook with wines that I like to drink. I did double the sauce as another user suggested. I also added minced garlic to the mushrooms as they were cooking. I did add a bit of soysauce, black pepper, and extra mustard to the sauce. I also thickened it, it was just very runny and not much to it. With the Cabernet and a touch of Soy Sauce it made it a really dark rich color. It tasted divine! =P I think it is an extremely easy way to please a crowd. As most of you know a demi glaze can take a LONG time to prepare. This is like an "instant" demi! So wonderful! You have to try it out!

Funky Enchilada Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2007
This recipe is AWESOME! My 7 year old had 2 servings and has been asking for it every night!I was looking for an Enchilada recipe when I found it. It is SO quick and simple. I left out the peppers and put in a bunch of olives. I have made it twice now in about a week and a half! I chop up onion, cilantro, tomato, and have lime slices to squeeze on top. Salsa, and sourcream for the sauce lovers! I will keep this recipe FOREVER! Thank you so much!

Broiled Chicken with Roasted Garlic Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2007
I started my evening tired and not sure what to make for dinner. I ran into this recipe and decided to try it out. I am happy I did! This is the easiest sauce recipe I think I have ever come across. Needed a change on a typical school/week night. If you are tired and dont want to put much into a GOOD dinner, you should try it. I thought this was a good recipe. I did not roast my garlic however. I decided to just mince it because I like the strong garlic flavor. I added some salt, parsley flakes for color and a few twists from the pepper mill. I also decided to add some pinenuts for a little bit of crunch and flavor. I served this sauce over some baked chicken thighs, white rice and salad. It was good...I will make it again. Thanks for sharing!

Super Easy Salmon Cakes

Reviewed: May 2, 2007
These salmon cakes were extremely dry. I even added two eggs. I wouldnt use as many cracker/bread crumbs next time. It would be nice to taste more of the salmon and not so much "bread" taste. The flavor was great! I did saute the green onions with fresh minced garlic. I added garlic powder, black pepper, fresh lemon juice, and a bit of salt. I served them with a Basil Aioli rather than the traditional tartar sauce. If they were more moist I would have rated this recipe higher. I will make them again as they were simple....but definitley need MOISTURE.

Herb Roasted Pork

Reviewed: May 11, 2006
This was FANTASTIC! I would double the sauce recipe, I have a daughter who likes to "Dip" things and I myself am a sauce person. This was a quick throw together meal for me after work. Keep in mind you have to cook your meat for 3 hours though. I served this with sauteed green beans with mushrooms and parmesan cheese and rice. Great combo! Will make this again! Thanks for the AWESOME recipe!

Chewy Coconut Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2006
Good cookie but definitley lacks presentation. I made this cookie because it seemed fairly simple and sounded SO good and GOOD it is. However with the ingredients combined exactly as called for ...I have no idea how you net 3dozen cookies out of this. They are very high maintenance (meaning you cant walk away to far or the will over cook.) Wish the presentation would have been better they were SO flat. But they sure are tasty! Dipped in chocolate and add some almonds you would have an Almond Joy! =)
