Potato Leek Soup III

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2008
This soup is simple and fantastic. I got comps. from hubby on this. The only thing I did different was to wait until the potatoes were tender to add the cream. I don't think you should boil the cream too long.

Velvety Pumpkin Soup With Blue Cheese and Bacon

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2007
Very good and quick to prepare. The longest part was browning the bacon! It was just a bit spicy for my taste, so I will cut the cayenne in half next time and put out hot sauce on the side. My husband loved it just as it was.

Not horrid, but.... Mine was done baking after an hour, and hour-forty-five would have definitely been too much. All of the fruit settled to the bottom, even though I mixed it all up and poured it and put it right in the oven. The batter was very runny, and I suspect not thick enough to support the fruit. The overall taste was fine. I used Constant Comment tea from Bigelow. It is an orange spice tea. I think next time perhaps more flour.

Apple Cake V

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2007
This recipe gave me a great starting point for my cake. I especially appreciate that this is an actual cake recipe, as so many of these recipes call for using yellow cake mix! Ugh! For me, it was missing cinnamon. So, after I diced the apples, I mixed 1 cup of sugar (taken from the 2 cups called for in the cake batter) with 1 tablespoon of cinnnamon, then mixed it into the apples and let them set awhile. I also eliminated the nuts, because someone here doesn't like them! A terrific cake, I really liked the glaze.

The crust needed longer in my oven, 20 minutes! But still yummy!

Nutty O's Snack

A good mix of flavors, but: put the cereal and nuts into a large mixing bowl and pour the syrup over; bake in the oven on low (maybe 200) for awhile to dry out the stickiness. Stir every 10 or 15 minutes.

Cinnamon Snack Mix

My only problem is the name of this recipe. There's no cinnamon in it! Honey Graham snack mix would be a better name. Otherwise yummy!

Yummy! Instead of making the cups to fill, I bought frozen phyllo dough cups.

Excellent! I used beef broth instead of chicken, to make it more reminiscent of French onion soup. Very creamy and delicious.
