Sonora Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2013
My in-laws have been making this for years and it's a crowd pleaser. We use flour tortillas cut into 1" strips and mild green chili instead of picante sauce. I tastes like a yummy burrito. It's easy to double or triple to feed a large group. With salad and chips and salsa you can't beat it.

Zucchini 'Noodles'

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2010
Exactly the way I want to eat zucchini. I left out the garlic and parm and sliced them pretty thick and it still turned out awesome.

Waynesboroughs

Nice basic recipe if you use it as a starter. It needs some extra ingredients to make it a stand out. Next time I will probably add diced green chilies and shredded cheese. I do agree with other reviewers about the amount of potato. I only used 2 and it was more than enough.

Black Bean and Chickpea Hummus

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2007
Good recipe. I made 2 batches, one with curry and one without (sorta had to, because what do you with half a can of chickpeas). Vastly prefer the batch without the curry. I also followed the previous reviewers advice to limit water. Perfect texture.

Quick and yummy but kind of bland. Next time I will bump up the spices.

Italian Veggie Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2007
Great recipe but it is VERY labor intensive. And rolling those puppies is way harder than the recipe implies!

Great simple recipe using stuff I always have in my pantry. Left out the wine and it was still great.

Chicken Pesto Pizza

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2006
Great quick recipe. I used leftover rotissery chicken, pesto from a previous dinner and fresh pizza dough from the grocery store. This would be a great dinner to serve company.

Great recipe if you follow other reviewers modifications. I have used this recipe as a base for other fruit buckles like cranberry orange.

Cheese Ravioli with Fresh Tomato and Artichoke Sauce

Reviewed: May 14, 2005
This recipe is a keeper. I made this for a non-vegetaian crowd and it was a huge hit. Very light and filling. I garnished with feta and followed other reviewers advice and simmered the sauce longer. This recipe is all about fresh tomatoes. Don't even think about using canned!

Beer Bread I

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2005
This is a great fool proof quick bread. I use Shiner beer and serv it with strawberrie freezer jam. I followed other reviewers suggestion and increased the sugar to a third cup and poured melted butter on top before baking. My dinner guests don't believe how simple this recipe is and actually insist I make it in front of them!
