Butter Icing for Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2008
this worked, but to me it tasted like liquid sugar. Maybe next time i'll find one with cream cheese in it.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2008
these were good, but not what I was looking for. I am looking for sugar cookies that actually rise a little. So,I will keep looking for that recipe, but over all these did turn out soft and good. Oh, I also followed the reviews and added extra sugar.

Mocha Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
I thought these were good, but my husband really liked them so I gave this five stars. I only put in a cup of sugar, which was good, and actually almost forgot it. So that was put in last. And, only had 2 bananas so thats what I used. My husband took them to a football party and they loved them. Oh, and my coffee mixture was 2 tblsp coffee, 1 tbsp water. I didn't want to give my kids a caffeine high. The batter was pretty thick, so I added a couple tbsp of water to it. Obviously this is a recipe that would be hard to mess up. thanks!

Rich Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2008
This turned out a little runny, I scaled this down to 8 servings, which made more than enough for a 9 by 13. I did 2 cups of powdered sugar instead of 2.5 cups, but the taste was outstanding! So, I didn't want to add the rest of the sugar. I will try whole milk next time, or something other than skim, and see if that makes a difference. This really is a great frosting though!

Acorn Squash with Apple

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2008
this was really good. It was time consuming to peel, and I didn't really like the texture of the squash. I will make this again, maybe trying a different type of squash next time. Thanks!

Taqueria Style Tacos - Carne Asada

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2008
This was great! I did follow the advice of one of the reviewers and left out the soy sauce and added orange juice, cilantro and chopped onion. I only did the meat part of this recipe, marinated it overnight, and grilled it on high heat. Oh yeah, I didn't have paprika so I put in 1/2 tsp of cayenne pepper. It still was edible for my 6 and 3 yr old to eat. This tasted exactly like the carne asada we had in Mexico. Great job! Thanks for the reviews!

Chicken Tortilla Soup V

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2008
This has a great flavor. I am giving it 4 stars because it was a little too thin for me. I do not want a creamy soup, but maybe next time I'll add some more cornstarch. I also added a can of black beans, and maybe it could of used more corn. And I thought it had too much onion(that could be because of the salsa?)So I took out 1/4 cup. All in all it was fairly quick to prepare, and has a great flavor. I will make this again. Thanks!

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2008
I took this recipe and used it to my advantage. I ruined some boneless porkchops earlier, so I took them and sliced them thinly and put it in a frying pan. Then I took minced garlic, ground peppercorn, ground sea salt and seasoned it(a lot). Took diced onion, and mushrooms and sauteed it. Then I took a can of cream of mushroom soup mixed with 1/2cup of milk and added it to the meat. Served it over a baked potato.( I also added a few dashes of rice vinegar to the soup, because I didn't have white wine. Not sure it did anything though.)This was an amazing meal and I will be making this again!

Easy Roasted Red Pepper Hummus

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2008
I can say that my store bought roasted red pepper hummus is better. I peeled the chickpeas, I used a little olive oil instead of tahini, 1/4 cup of lemon juice, and 2 cloves of garlic. I think I put too much garlic in, I may try this recipe again without the garlic. And, I added cumin. I agree that hummus needs that. Oh, and basil seemed out of place so I didn't add it. So, thanks for giving me something new to try!

Turtles® Cake I

Reviewed: May 2, 2007
This is delicious. I would give it 5 stars but I made adjustments. I eliminated the evaporated milk and used 2/3 cup milk instead. And for the butter I used 1/4 cup and am considering using less next time. Also, when I made the cake as directed on the box, I used applesauce instead of the oil. Turned out wonderful!

Dixie Pork Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2007
This turned out very blah for me. And since it turned out that way, I am disappointed that I added oil and sugar to it, which made it less healthy for my family. Sorry, don't know how I could of done this recipe better.

Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2007
These were just like eating a sugary glob of peanut butter...tasty, but too much for me. If you make these, make them small so they get done. I also had to lower the temp to 325. Thanks though, it took care of my sugar craving!

Barbecued Beef

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2006
I needed something to do with my beef ribs so I boiled them and then shredded them, took off as much fat as I could, and scaled this sauce down to what I had. I didn't have the wine vinegar nor the liquid smoke and it still turned out great. I had to add a little extra water to get the consistancy that I wanted and add a little more pepper to even out the salt. Served it on wheat buns and it was really good. Next time I will do as the recipe said, omitting the salt and the vinegar. If it was this good now, I will defenitely do this again with the right stuff. Thanks!

Chicken and Spinach Alfredo Lasagna

Reviewed: May 5, 2006
I thought this was okay. It turned out very well, looked delicious for presentation( I added the chopped tomatoes on top)but for my taste, it wasn't that great. I give it 5 stars because it wasn't the recipe's fault that I didn't like it that much. It took some ingredients that I don't normally carry, and it isn't the healthiest meal.So I probably won't make this again. Since I didn't use all of the alfredo sauce, I'm going to use it on noodles, chicken and veggies. I think that it will be good. I recommend using the lowfat half and half, 98% fat free cream of mushroom soup and cream of chicken, and putting lots of tomatoes on top. I also used fresh spinach because that is what I had, but the frozen might have been faster. It is worth trying:)

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

These were really good, a little dry though. And, I had way too much topping mixture, but that doesn't really matter. Thanks for a good recipe!

Basil Tomato Pork Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2005
This was excellent! I think it tasted better when I let it sit for 10 min. I used thinner porkchops so I didn't have to cook them as long. I didn't brown them fully, but enough to get the garlic flavoring in. I was generous on the garlic and basil, and it was yummy!

Perfectly Chocolate Hot Cocoa

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2005
This is really good and simple. A little too much sugar for me so I'd probably find a way to cut back on that either by adding water or less sugar. But this is very good and creamy.
