Warning: Reduce the sugar, otherwise awesome recipe. I made this recipe for the first time for a Pig Pickin this weekend. I have never made slaw in my life. It got rave reviews from the 30+ people in attendance. I did grate my own cabbage and carrots for the slaw instead of bag slaw. I quadrupled the recipe (3/4 of a very large head of cabbage and ½ of red cabbage, carrots as preferred) but only used ½ cup of sugar and ¼ cup of oil rather than what was called for in a quadrupled recipe and it was perfect. I can’t imagine using ½ c sugar in the original recipe when it was plenty in a quadrupled recipe. I also added a bit of white pepper and fresh ground pepper. It was DELICIOUS!
