Best Ever Beef Marinade

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2014
I've never made a marinade before, and always just used a premade, but decided to get a little fancy today. Followed the recipe exactly, forked the *** out of my inside round roast and let it marinate for 6-8 hours this morning. Took it out of the marinade, rubbed all over with kosher salt and fresh ground pepper and seared it. Braised in the oven at low heat sitting in beef broth. SUPER YUMMY! Roast was moist and very tender and forked apart easily, and the outside pieces had a WONDERFUL flavour. Gravy was superb (though again, I didn't cook it in the marinade.) Hubby says it's the best roast I've ever made! Definitely a repeat!

Strawberry Cobbler I

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2014
This is amazing. I had 2 pints of strawberries starting to go bad so I figured I'd make something. I found this recipe and I have never had nor made strawberry cobbler before (I'm Canadian, and this seems to be a Southern dish.) I followed the reviews and used 1/3 cup of water, 1/2 cup sugar, and 2 tbsp cornstarch in the strawberries and honestly it was still quite liquidy because of how ripe my strawberries were. I used 18% coffee cream in the biscuit portion and upped the sugar to almost 2 tbsp and added 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract. It was so amazing. We topped it with vanilla greek yogurt. Hubby definitely wants this made again!!! Edit: Just made a double batch with canned peaches in addition to the strawberries. Drained the peaches first. Wonderful decision, turned out lovely, however, I ran into the same problem as before where I didn't find the dough quite covered the fruit. It was still a good ratio of dough to fruit but if you want the dough to cover it, I would suggest doubling or 1.5x-ing the dough recipe.

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2014
Amazing! I ended up halfing the recipe (I only had 3 bananas...I think you need at least 6 for this recipe) and baking it in an 8" round cake pan. Husband gave me a weird look when I served him a pie-slice-shaped piece of banana bread but all three of us loved it. Great recipe, I will be using this as my go-to! Oh, I also added a sprinkle of cinnamon to the batter and it was awesome :)
