Burgundy Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2008
OK how could a recipe with such little effort taste so good. Made this for guests for tonight's dinner and I can honestly say that I spent more time with my guests than in the kitchen. What a change. It's usually the other way around. The dinner....superb and everyone loved it. Made a lovely presentation coupled with roasted potato cubes and steamed vegetables.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2007
This recipe rates as one of the top potato soups I have every tasted. Made this with my leftover ham from Thanksgiving. I served this for dinner with cheddar cheese biscuits. Great dinner for a fall day.

Great tasting cookies. No need to alter this recipe. Called a friend over as I was taking them out from the oven. After one bite he smile and said these were the "sexiest" cookie he tasted.

Grandma Johnson's Scones

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2007
Fantastic scones! Woke up this morning with a craving so while everyone was still in bed and ventured out seekng for scone recipe. Easy to make, light & fluffy, superb flavour. Took 30 minutes to measure, mix, roll out and bake the first batch. Served with butter and homemade strawberry jam and it was like waking up at a country bed & breakfast. In the future, I will experiment by adding lemon rind and cranberries or sugar & cinnamon. Perhaps chocolate chip for the children.

Blueberry Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2007
Very tasty. Instead of making a loaf, I decided to make mini muffins as I was serving a continental breakfast with other baked goods for a number of people. They took only 15 minutes to bake and yield 36 muffins.

Jenn's Out Of This World Spaghetti and Meatballs

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2007
My mistake was not reading the reviews prior to making the sauce. The sauce is way too sweet to put over pasta. Tastes more like tomato soup than spaghetti sauce. Added one inch pieces of italian sausage, a red and green pepper and sliced mushrooms to add some body to the sauce but still found that this sauce was missing something. I finally added a large bottle of commercial sauce trying to save this sauce. Will not make this recipe anytime soon.

Kerry's Beany Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2007
Wonderful salad. Made this dish as a side for a family BBQ and everyone, including the children, enjoyed this dish. I used brown basmati rice instead of the white long grain to add a nutty flavour which worked out very well. I also used pot barley instead of pearl because I like the larger grain.

Aunt Johnnie's Pound Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2007
This recipe was quite easy to make. Cake turned out moist. I served this with fresh strawberries and whipped cream for dessert. The almond flavour and strawberries went together very well. The second time I made this cake, I added lemon juice and grated rind instead of the almond extract just for a different flavour.

Awesome Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting

Awesome! This cake is not too sweet and very moist. Nothing like a one bowl recipe; very simple to make. I added a 1/2 cup of raisins for good measure.

Strawberry and Feta Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2007
Simply wonderful. Seemed like an unusual mixture of ingedients but the taste was absolute superb. The sweetness of strawberries and the saltiness of the feta covered with the honey dressing made this recipe one of our favorite salads to serve.

French Onion Soup Gratinee

Reviewed: May 18, 2007
WOW! This is the first onion soup recipe that is very easy to make, didn't require hours to complete and is restaurant quality. Soup was fuoll of flavour, delcious, not saltly and a hint of wine in the background. I actually was able to portion out six hardy servings.
