I am a 29 y/old mom of 2 young boys, I really have my hands full! I am lucky in that my boys will eat everything I prepare! I am currently in school for nursing and also work at a local Emergency room. Some of my ealiest memories include and apron! I grew up baking and cooking mostly Italian dishes, but as I grew so did my love of cooking! My Husband is always eager to try new things and I spend what little spare time I have trying out new dishes!
My favorite things to cook
I have a deep rooted love for Italian food, but I like to make as many shortcuts as I can. Living in New England gives us the benefit of 4 seasons and my cooking stylle reflect sthat. I love to cook with what is in season and my tasstes vary throughout the year. Baking is something I consider a hobby, because, (along with a glass of wine!) it always relaxes me
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas time is my favorite! My grandmother and I still get together every year to make classic Italian christmas cookies, we also always try to add a new recipe to our collection, yearly. Then on to Christmas eve, coming from an Italian background I look forward to that yummy 7 course meal, and usually spend days preparing for it!!
My cooking triumphs
When I was 9 months pregnant with my first son, I threw a sit down dinner for my and my husbands family (totaling 38 of us) on Christmas Eve in Semi-Classic Italian style. I incorporated the traditional 7 fishes with a few modern twists and people were raving for months afterward! The best part of it all was how proud my husband was...He still talks about that Christmas!
My cooking tragedies
I cannot make a Grilled Cheese! I try everything but they are always undercooked and soggy or charred and rock hard. And Don't get me started on scrambled eggs! One day I will conquer these feats, I will keep trying until I do!
