Kristin's Fudgy Brownies

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2011
These were very tasty. I do have to say that 40 minutes in the oven seems way too long. I had my timer set for 30 minutes and the edges came out a little overdone. I did use a dark non-stick pan. Think that I will try a glass pan next time to see if that makes a difference.

Double Fudge Kahlua Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2010
These brownies were very tasty. The frosting definitely makes them. They are very cake-like rather than the fudgie type brownie I prefer. I started to check on these after 20 minutes and took them out after 23 minutes and they ended up a little dry.

Spicy Sweet Potatoes

Excellent recipe if you want something different that the usual sweet potato casserole. I usually add more cayenne as we like our food on the hot and spicy side.

Big Al's K.C. Bar-B-Q Sauce

First of all I can't believe I actually had all of the ingredients for this recipe. Secondly, it is outstanding. the longer it cooks the thicker it gets. I used on chicken and can see using it on just about any meat.

No-Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2009
I was looking for something with more peanut butter taste. These are ok for what they are. The graham cracker crumbs do make them a bit gritty.

Chocolate Billionaires

Super Easy-the only hint I have to offer is to make sure the caramel mixture is really cold when you go to dip them. They tended to get sticky after a few minutes.

Cherry Tomato Corn Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2008
This was really yummy. I used frozen fresh corn that I had frozen last fall. I also added a couple teaspoons of fresh lemon juice. I know the bottled is more convenient and less expensive but fresh is the way to go for lime and lemon juice.

Hash Brown Egg Bake

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2008
I made this for a breakfast at work. It was ok. I might try browning the potatoes first the next time. Also, if I was making this for just my family I would have added garlic and onions to give it more taste. My co-workers did like it.

Chocolate Meringue Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2007
I ended up having to triple this recipe to fill the pie crust. I added extra egg whites because we like our meringue piled high. The pie tasted good and I will make this again. I gave it 3 stars only because I had made and poured the first batch before I realizes that I would need more filling.

Way too much oil and butter as the recipe is written. I tried this a second time with much less oil and butter-much better

Buffalo Chicken Dip

I have made this dip twice. Once with the canned chicken and once with the packaged rotisserie chicken. We actually preferred the canned chicken. I also use blue cheese instead of ranch and left out the cheddar cheese.

Spicy Grilled Shrimp

Excellent shrimp recipe. I used crushed garlic from a jar to save a little time. We had some left over so I diced it up and put on a salad. Yummy

I used unsalted butter and butter flavored shortening. I thought it had too much sugar in it but my husband loved it.
