Tangy Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2014
Wow - this is delicious! We are low-carb, so I used Stevia instead of sugar and left out the stuffing - and it was PERFECT! Huge hit - thank you!

Kathy's Roast and Vegetables

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2013
I followed the recipe EXACTLY and ended up with mushy potatoes and very tough meat. Browning the meat for 20 full minutes seemed like too much to me, but the ratings for this recipe were so high, I did it anyways. Won't do that again. I can't think of what else could have gone wrong. The flavor was good, but you should have seen all the chewing going on at our dinner table - we had some good laughs, at least.

Cornell Chicken Marinade

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2013
Absolutely delicious! I'm always a little shy with salt, so I use 2/3 or 1/2 of what the recipe calls for, but the simplicity and great flavor of this marinade make it a perfect recipe, in my book.

Waldorf Salad II

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2011
PERFECT RECIPE! I used four apples instead of three and used craisins instead of raisins, but only because I wanted to, not because I needed to. This is the perfect classic Waldorf recipe, exactly as it is written. Thank you for sharing! :)

Mexican Rice II

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2011
Absolutely wonderful! I use vegetable broth instead of chicken broth (we're vegetarian), and it works great. Also, I use 2 tablespoons of oil instead of one. Thank you for a great recipe!

Grain and Nut Whole Wheat Pancakes

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2011
My family groaned when I told them I was making whole-grain oat and wheat pancakes. But when they ate these, they went crazy with praise! They said these where the best pancakes they had ever tasted! THANK YOU! (I added an extra egg, per some other suggestions, but found the batter to be too runny and had to add flour. Next time, I will make it as written.)

Swiss Chard and Pecan Pesto

Reviewed: May 13, 2011
I followed the recipe exactly and found that it needed more olive oil - mine came out a little too thick at first. But other than that, it is a perfect recipe! It tastes wonderful and swiss chard is so good for you! THANK YOU!

Mustard Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2010
I know I shouldn't rate a recipe if I have not followed it exactly as written, but I did not have white vinegar, so I used apple cider vinegar instead. It was a little too tart for me at first, but when I added another tablespoon of honey, it was just right. Thank you!

Vegetable Fried Rice

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2010
I wish I would have read more of the reviews before I made this. The flavor was very good with the fresh ginger, garlic and lime juice, but it was WAY too sweet for my taste. I almost doubled the rice and added more salt to try to mellow the sweetness, but it only helped a little. I will make it again, but I will half the teriyaki sauce, omit the brown sugar, and add soy sauce.

I only give five stars for recipes that are perfect as is - this recipe is perfect when you halve the soy sauce!

Sausage Smothered in Red Cabbage

WONDERFUL! I used lime juice instead of lemon and apple cider vinegar instead of wine vinegar, only because it's what I had. I'm sure it would have been just as wonderful with the original ingredients. Thank you for a great recipe!

Honey Dijon Balsamic Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2009
I chose to try this recipe because it was quick and simple and I was in a hurry. It tasted REALLY GOOD, but the vinegar was a bit overpowering. Maybe I'll put less in next time. For a quick and easy dressing, I really enjoyed it - thank you!

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2009
Great recipe - I only wanted to say that I didn't have red enchilada sauce, so I used green, and it was wonderful. I also threw in black beans and some other veggies in my fridge that needed to be eaten (red bell pepper and zucchini) and served the soup over rice. My whole family LOVED it!
