About this Cook
I love ethnic food & go out of my way to look for flavorful recipes that are authentic and built from the basics (not from cans).
My favorite things to cook
Indian food, staples like pot pie, shepherds Pie, gourmet and eventually I will learn to bake!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Honey Lavendar duck (we got from we have it every year for Thanksgiving or Christmas!
My cooking triumphs
Anytime the ethnic food turns out to be really good (which is most of the time). I love the way the flavors are never the same but always good!
My cooking tragedies
Typically forgetting ingredients... baking powder and soda -always pay attention to what the ingredients call for!

Baked Oatmeal I
I added 2 fresh apples diced to this and 1/4 tsp on ground cloves. I added 1 Tbsp of vanilla but probable will omit that next time as I think it takes away from the cinnamon taste. If you double the recipe I believe they come out too moist more like cake... I wanted bars so I will not double again :) Either way they were good and I will try again. Next time I am doing 1 cup blueberry oatmeal bars with 1/2 cup cranberries or cherries :) Adding 1 Tbsp Vanilla & Omitting the cinnamon. Or I might try the oatmeal blueberry muffins on this site!

Chicken Makhani (Indian Butter Chicken)
needs the "most helpful" suggestions to be 5 stars but wow with those... mmm, mmm, good! I of course kicked mine up a notch and made other modification according to what was in my cub-boards but this is a keeper! Will make often :D
