Peppy's Pita Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2007
YUMMY! These are great! I added 1 tsp minced garlic and 1 tsp of rosemary to my dough and it gave the pitas great flavor. After they came out of the oven, I brushed them with olive oil. Recommended recipe!

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2007
Great biscuit recipe!!! I wish I had butter flavored shortening on hand, but I only had plain vegetable. The biscuits turned out well with the unflavored shortening, but I imagine that they would have been even better with some of the butter flavored variety!!

Deep Dish Brownies

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2007
Like other reviewers, I omitted the baking powder and one egg. The brownies were very moist and have stayed moist in my pyrex dish for about 4 days now! If you are looking for a really, really chocolatey brownie, this recipe is not it, but it is VERY easy and convenient as it calls for ingredients that everyone already has on hand.

Chocolate Almond Marble Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2006
Made this for Christmas Eve. Delicious and beautiful!! Make sure you bake cheesecake in a waterbath and after it bakes for indicated time, turn oven off and let cheesecake sit for an hour. This way it won't crack! Also, I added a teaspoon of almond extract to a cup of whipped cream and some powdered sugar and whipped for a VERY YUMMY whipped cream garnish!

Cookie Balls

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2005
I have been making these since forever, and thought that they were only a Central Iowa thing. They are kind of time consuming, but delicious none-the less. I've had people ask me if it was brownies inside! Definately try this.

Chicken Scampi II

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2005
Can I just say that I love this dish?? It is so good and unique. It has its own flavor, and may not look like anything special but it has a great taste to it. I think its because of the lemon juice. I always serve it with penne pasta and cube the chicken. This makes a lot though, but can be frozen in Glad containers for lunch or such.

Cooking Light magazine's Chicken Parmesan

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2005
I made this for my boyfriend last year for Valentine's Day. He's one of those spaghetti+ground beef+sauce pasta people, but a year later he's still raving about it. I served it with breadsticks that I twisted into heart shapes!

White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2005
This was the first cheesecake that I ever made, and I just enjoyed it so much that I came back to rate/review it. I doubled the sauce, which is such a good idea because its delicious and then it't not such a big deal to get all the sauce strained out from the seeds which is pretty tough. My boyfriend's mom asked me for the recipe for this after she had it, and she thought it was a family recipe!! Don't be intimidated by this recipe, I had no cheesecake experience and it worked for me!

Chocolate Chip Cheesecake I

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2005
This is a very good and very easy cheesecake. I have made it according to the recipe, and also have tweaked it a bit for these past holidays. I added a bit of mint extract to the crust (about a capful) and also to the cake (3 capfuls). Also, instead of choc. chips, I used Andes Baking Chips (find them next to the regular choc. chips at the store). It made for a very different and refreshing cheesecake for Christmas.
