About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
Pies... i love baking pies... I also love a texas brisket recipe that I have,a Orange Sauce Chicken, homecut fries covered in a hot spicy chili, grilled chicken with louisiana bbq sauce, spicy thai beef noodle soup, crispy beef with orange sauce, Nachos loaded with cheese... ( okay thats a cheater, but I still put it in the oven so it still conts ) mexican roasted corn, and I do make the most amazing hamburgers ever.
My favorite family cooking traditions
my grandmothers raisin cookies - so she called them - she always put these in a muffin tin, and baked them up like that rather then plop them on a cookie sheet.. could never figure that one daughter and I are starting a whole bunch of new one
My cooking triumphs
This christmas I hosted Christmas.. 14 people .. I have never cooked for more then 6 before.. Everything turned out like a dream, from the table settings right through to dessert. I did a mustard rubbed rib roast, a sliced ham, rosemary roasted potatoes, sauteed green peas with red onions, honey roasted parsnips, yorkshire puddings, and amazing gravy, and apple plus chocolate crusted chocolate coconut cream pie.. absolutly phenomanal.. plus the first thing I ever baked. it was a oat bran crusted appple/pear caramel pie from southern living magazine... still one of the best things I ever made.
My cooking tragedies
my pizza crust... only turns out about 15% of the time ... UGH .... and my yorklies .. same thing They only turn out like 10 % of the time.. I have to get the hubby to make them !!

Orange Sauce Chicken
my hubby and I LOVE this recipe. We add hot pepper flakes to the sauce to spice it up and it is fabulous !!only complaint is batter is to thick. We add about a half of cup less of flour and it is perfect.
