Orzo Delicioso

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
Sorry - but this is not delicious at all. It was totally boring and unsavory. None of us could stomach more than one serving. What a waste!

Mexican Bean Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
This was easy to make - and certainly different. A nice change of pace. But, we actually found it to be a little on the bland side. I won't be making it a second time.

Kung Pao Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
We really didn't care for this at all. It sounded so good - we were really disappointed. It was surprisingly uninteresting and tasted like nothing more than chicken sautéed in soy sauce to us. Sorry!

Fresh Cranberry Salad

Very good! A nice combination of tangy and sweet. The whole family enjoyed it. Make sure to eat it up - as it does not keep.

Chicken Satay

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
My family liked this a lot with a few changes. I increased the peanut butter to 4 tablespoons and decreased the soy sauce to 1/4 cup. I served the chicken in warm pitas topped with chopped cucumbers and red onions that I had tossed in a little salt, lime juice and honey. Yum!

Candied Acorn Squash

I'm not crazy about cooking with the microwave, but this recipe was really delicious. And fast to the table! Buttery and sweet... delicious! It really hit the spot on a cold wintry day.

Amazing White Clam Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
We didn't find this to be that amazing. It was just average. Certainly edible - but I would not keep the recipe to make again.

Spaghetti Pie III

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2008
Fairly good. Not something that I would make again, though. I don't care for overcooked pasta - and I realize that it's hard to avoid in baked pasta dishes - but, I don't seem to notice it as much when a larger pasta is used. I just don't think spaghetti works real well being cooked twice.

Cabbage Casserole Vegetable

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2008
This was just so-so for my family. Had a sort of "processed food" taste to it. Not that I am against using canned soup and process cheese, it just seemed to stand out in this recipe for some reason. There are other cabbage casseroles I have tried that I like much better, so I don't think that I will be making this again.

London Broil

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2008
Awesome! This had very good flavor. Left out the MSG - that is not good for you! I marinated it for 24 hours and it came out perfect. I didn't even need to brush it with the marinade while it cooked. Cooked it until it was just slightly pink inside - which is the key to keeping it tender!

Kielbasa with Honey Mustard

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2008
Very good! I especially enjoyed how the brown sugar caramelized onto the kielbasa. I made it as written, and then tried it again adding onion and mushrooms and stirring in the sauce to serve over rice - as suggested by other reviewers. I preferred the way it was written. Just dipping it into the sauce. Mixing it in with everything lost that yummy brown sugar glaze.

Sloppy Joes I

I did not like these at all. My husband and kids thought they were 'ok' - but I thought they were just edible. Nothing to ever make again. Sorry!

Calico Beans

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2008
This was good - but I did have to make quite a few changes. I used a 1/2 lb. of bacon - so not sure if that equals to a 1/2 cup or not. I also added an additional can of pork and beans. I reduced the brown sugar to 1/2 cup, reduced the vinegar to 2 tablespoons (and used apple cider vinegar), increased the mustard powder to 1/2 tablespoon and added a teaspoon of salt. I omitted the celery. I sautéed the bacon for a bit on it's own first and then added the ground beef and onion. I mixed up the sauce in a separate bowl. Then, I added everything to a 13 x 9 x 2" baking dish and combined it. Covered it and baked for an hour as stated. Making it this way, I LOVED it! Thanks for sharing something I could build off of.

Anadama Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2008
I have never had this bread before, so I have nothing to compare this recipe against. But, I found it to be too dense for my taste. It did not form a nice "crusty" crust for me that I like - and was really chewy inside... almost to the point of seeming not quite cooked enough. Wasn't blown away by the flavor of this bread either - so I don't think I will be making it again.

This was awesome. The whole family enjoyed this hearty dish. Great over mashed potatoes! And, easy for a mom with 3 kids under 4! Will be making this often.

Sweet Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2008
Ok...so, I can't really complain that this was too sweet - what, with "sweet" in the title and all. I just wanted to try it. But... yuck. It was way too sweet for my taste. I won't be making this again.... ever. I should note that my two kids DID like it. Go figure. :)

Grilled Asian Chicken

Very strong soy sauce flavor. I didn't even get a hint of the ginger. And, it definitely needs more honey. Overall, I didn't care for it enough to try again.
