Hawaiian Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2005
I marinated for 4 hours then BBQ'd. It was good but not as much flavor as I expected. I probably won't make it again.

Artichoke and Roasted Red Pepper Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2006
This was my first artichoke dip I ever made. I used pre-grated parmesan cheese which was ok but next time I will shred fresh parmesan. Everyone enjoyed the dip and I was asked for the recipe. I served with wheat crackers and it was delicious.

French Dip Sandwiches

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2006
Everyone enjoyed these sandwiches. I toasted french rolls in the oven then melted provolone cheese and added the beef. I would make again, but leave out the rosemary.

Slow Cooker Scalloped Potatoes with Ham

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2006
This was good and easy. A few tips I used from other reviewers: I doubled the onions, cheese and ham & used cheddar cheese soup instead of cream of mushroom & milk instead of water. If I make again, I'll use 1 C cheddar and 1 C sharp cheddar. This would make a good side dish too. My sister already wants the recipe!

The Meatball that Fell Off the Table

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2006
The meatballs were very flavorful. I used dijon mustard instead of coriander and added about 1/3 cup of sour cream to the mushroom soup. It was delish! Husband liked it too!

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2006
This was awesome! The flavor was great and it was "oh so easy" to make. I served over red mashed potatoes w/roasted garlic, sour cream and butter. In my slow cooker, this recipe was ready in 6 hours low temp.

Slow-Cooker Barbecue Ribs

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2006
The ribs were good, falling off the bone actually. I think I would like a smokier BBQ sauce and would add liquid smoke as another reviewer suggested. I would make less sauce as well, the meat was saturated in the sauce and my husband thought it was too much, couldn't taste the meat itself. All in all, everyone liked them and there were no leftovers!

Flatlander Chili

Reviewed: May 7, 2007
I love this chili! I have made it several times since finding this recipe. I change up the veggies depending on what I have in the refrigerator, but always add zucchini and yellow squash and let it simmer with all the flavors. I make a big pot and freeze in smaller bags to take to work for lunch. It's a healthy alternative and so EASY. This is a definite keeper recipe for chili in my house, everyone loves it.

Layered Eggplant Hamburger Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2007
I was hesitant to make this since I had never cooked with eggplant before, but because I had bought an eggplant earlier in the week, I thought I would give this recipe a try and it sounded good. The prep time was minimal and my husband ate almost half of the pan, so I'd say he really liked it. I enjoyed the eggplant and will definitely make again. Oh, I added zucchini to this too - it was great!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2007
My husband LOVED this recipe after he was out in the cold all day cutting wood. I thought it was ok, doesn't top my grandma's though. I added frozen carrots and peas, used crm of chicken and crm of celery, salt and pepper, no onion and topped with the torn biscuits for dumplings. I will probably make it again.

Kay's Spaghetti and Lasagna Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2008
This was an easy sauce to make. I made with 1/2 the sugar and used tomato paste and I think I would have preferred to use the full amount of sugar, it was a little bland for me. I will make again, but I'm still searching for my "go to" recipe for spaghetti sauce.

Corn Chowder with Sausage

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2008
This was the first chowder I ever made. It was pretty simple and really tasty. I added the celery and carrots like others suggested, used red onion, half and half (will try evaporated milk next time) and didn't peel the potatoes. I let it simmer on low for two hours to thicken it up. It was very satisfying. I froze the leftovers in individual bags to take to work for lunches. Will definitely be making this again! Thanks for the recipe.

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2008
I didn't change a thing and like so many others, the teriyaki sauce was the best I've ever had. Great flavor. I've been searching for a good teriyaki and finally found it! It was so simple to make too! Thanks.

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

I followed some advice from others...I made sure I refrigerated before cooking, used Franks hot sauce and baked instead of fried. Loved the wings, thanks.

Sour Cream Cucumber Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2008
I made meatloaf and served the sour cream cucumber salad over a baked potato as another reviewer suggested. It was different and my husband liked it. I may add some garlic next time.

Hamburger Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2008
I made this for my husband to take hunting with him and he forgot it in the fridge so I had it for lunch the next day. I have to say I was impressed! It tasted good and was filling; I'm glad we now have a bunch in the freezer! I added some frozen peas and carrots, used cream of mushroom soup (w/roasted garlic) added mushrooms and a big scoop of sour cream. I ended up cooking for about 2 hours so the potatoes were done, could have been the dish I used to cook in. Will definitelyl make again with lots of veggies.

Simple BBQ Ribs

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2008
I don't care for the country style ribs, I much prefer ribs with the bone-in. The recipe was good though, I added more garlic powder and some soy sauce (1/4 cup) when I boiled the ribs (and the house smelled wonderful), then baked for 45 mins. Thanks for the recipe, lots of room to experiment with this one.

Dee's Roast Pork for Tacos

Reviewed: May 20, 2009
My sister and I made this for our family dinner while we were camping on the coast last weekend. Put a pork shoulder roast in the crockpot, cooked for 7 hrs, was falling off the bone and super easy to shred. The seasonings were great (will add a little more next time), served w/corn tortillas, lime, cabbage, salsa and sour cream. Yum, will definitely make this again! Super easy dinner to make when traveling in the RV.

Peanut Butter Vegetable Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2009
The thing I loved about this recipe is it has lots of veggies and you can keep adding all you want. I was a little skeptical adding the peanut butter and wondering if there would be enough flavor, but it really works! It was fantastic, husband loved it and we can freeze for lunches. I sauteed the garlic, celery, onion and red bell pepper, added to the soup and let it simmer about an hour, then added the peanut butter at the last. Thanks for the great soup recipe!
