About this Cook
I have 4 kids who love to eat. I am now a full time working mom and usually cook on weekends. Cooking is therapeutic for me. It destresses me. I love surprising my family with new tastes and I enjoy when my children cook with me.
My favorite things to cook
baking is 1st. I like traditional dishes kicked up a notch!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Sunday dinners. Since we have a large family I like getting together with family and preparing a big sunday dinner and all sitting around nibbling into the evening.
My cooking triumphs
Its a triumph when I can make a dish from another culture come out right.
My cooking tragedies
many are my tragedy stories. Bad dishes that didnt come out well. Im still learning about spices and herbs and which complement certain foods. But we all will have tragedies just laugh and move forward to the next dish!

Extreme Banana Nut Bread 'EBNB'
actually 4.5. This is a wonderful, moist BNB. Friends just love it and ask for more. I didnt feel like baking all the batter and put half in the refrigerator overnight and baked it the following evening. It was better than the first batch! MMMM good!

Super Short Ribs
very good. I think it would have been better if the ribs soaked for at least an hour in the cold marinade then baked for the 2 hours. long process but worth the wait. like a soaked in sweet/sour taste.

Chile Verde II
I loved this recipe. I am mexican and usually do my own chile verde but wanted to see how others differ. I seared the pork then removed to sear the onions/garlic/cumin powder. meanwhile, boiled the tomatillos/jalepenos till tender. then put in blender on hi for bout' 2-3minutes. pour mixture into onion/garlic/cumin and bring to a slight boil then return the seared pork. Absolutely delicious. DONT FORGET to add small amts of salt and black pepper to all three steps! ENJOY!
