Scrumptious Salmon Cakes

This is a wonderful recipe. I live alone, so I halved it, making 2 meals for me. One does not need to pick out the bones, etc. I usually remove the large center bone only (not necessary, though). All the "stuff" blends in and cannot be detected once cooked. It's silly to spend time picking out the small bones and cartilage. It's actually good for you. Leftovers from fresh salmon is delicious! Thanks for the nice recipe.

Romanian Apple Cake

wonderful ! wonderful ! This is such a delicious cake, moist & tasty. I made this yesterday for company & WOW !! fantastic, and I made it exactly as written, using 4 very large granny smith apples. It seemed a peculiar texture after mixing in the appple chunks & walnuts, (seemed to be chopped apples with a sauce). However, it turned out yummy! Thank you for this delightful recipe & I see no reason for anyone to change a single thing.

Butter Rich Spritz Butter Cookies

This is fabulous!!! I've been making spritz cookies for years & this recipe is the best. Everything came out beautifully without any problems. It may be the result of using confectioners sugar instead of the granulated. Whatever, they were easy to make & will look so pretty on my cookie trays. My grandkids & great grandkids really enjoy these. Made it exactly as written except I used all vanilla extract. (1 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla) delicious!!!

Classic CRISCO® Pie Crust

This is wonderful! I've been using this Crisco recipe for many, many years & am not disappointed. It makes a flaky crust that is very easy. I keep my Crisco in the refrigerator (other shortenings do not come out as well for me.) so it is good & cold. The weather & brand of flour can determine the amount of ice water used. Start with 2 tble of the ice water, mix with a fork & add additional until it comes together. I also make it into a disk, wrap in Saran Wrap & chill for 20-30 minutes. I often use chilled butter-flavored Crisco for a buttery taste. If your crust is crumbly, you must add additonal ice water, a few drops at a time. Much better than the packaged stuff.

Squash Pie

This is wonderful. I made this pie yesterday & it is delicious. My husband likes it better than pumpkin! Instead of hot milk, I just used a 14 oz can of evaporated milk.(room temp) I also cut the sugar a little, added about 1 Tble of molasses, & upped the cinnamon to 1/2 teaspoon. I divided the remaining mashed squash into 2 cup containers to freeze for more pies. Thanks, Carol !!!

Meatloaf Cordon Bleu

Good recipe. Turned out great. To roll it easily, just use the paper to roll it as the directions dictate. If it falls apart, just pat it back together. Make sure that the ends are sealed, just use your fingers to pat it closed. This will keep the cheese from oozing out. I put it in the fridge for an hour or so before cooking it. As others have noted, it can look pink due to the ham.

Grilled Tilapia with Mango Salsa

excellent!!! I have been making this for a few years & love it! We had it for dinner tonight & it was wonderful. I didn't grill the fish outside, it was really hot this afternoon, so I grilled it on the top of the stove. Wonderful & the salsa is delicious. It always tastes a little different each time I make it, but it is always good. I use 2 jalapeno peppers & we like it that way. I use the recipe as stated otherwise. It's a great summer meal.

Rich and Creamy Potatoes Au Gratin

Great recipe. It is expensive to make & loaded with calories & fat. However, it is a wonderful recipe for holidays & special occasions. I did a trial run last night to taste the outcome (made it exactly as written) & it was terrific !! Will be making again for Easter dinner & will probably not make again for many months. Wonderful recipe, the best au gratin potatoes I have ever tasted !! Yummy !!

Marshmallow Crispy Lemon Pie

Just made this & it looks beautiful !!! (It's too early to cut or taste yet). I really enjoy lemon & I also like rice crispy squares. I'll edit this review after we have it for dessert. I'll add a spoonful of whipped cream & a strawberry half when I serve it. *We thought this was a wonderful dessert, sweet & tasty. Loved it, exactly as written!!!

Cranberry Sauce

great recipe !!! I make this every year for Thanksgiving. It thickens as it sits covered in the fridge. Those having trouble with it jelling properly, would do well to make it a few days in advance. It tastes better also.

Apple Pie

delicious !!!!! Everyone should know that this pie ( and most fruit pies) has to cool before slicing it, or it will be runny. It was perfect. Since there is only 2 of us, I sent half over to our neighbors. They really enjoyed it. Great recipe!!!!!

Lemon-Raspberry Muffins

Great recipe. I made this for a ladies Bible Study yesteray & they were a hit. I added the zest of one lemon to the batter & made a glaze of powdered sugar & lemon juice. I made them into mini-muffins & baked for 11 minutes. (I checked them with a toothpick). They were moist & delicious & looked lovely on my red valentine platter. Thanks

Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

I made these last evening for Christmas dinner. (I froze them). They were delicious! I added about 1 tble worchester sauce, 2 smashed cloves of garlic, a tble brown sugar & parsley to the meat. I also doubled the recipe using 1 lb ea of ground beef & venison. I shredded the remaining cabbage & lined the pan with it, topping it with the rolls. To the sauce, I added a can of diced tomatoes, salt, pepper, & a dash of brown sugar. I also baked them covered @ 350* for 1 1/2 hours. We each ate 2 for dinner & froze the rest for Christmas dinner!!! Thanks for a great recipe!!

Chocolate Mayo Cake

delicious ! I had a similar recipe that I used for 30 or so years. I quit making so many sweets, with the children grown & gone & somehow lost my recipe. My son & family were here for his birthday & he requested his favorite cake, you guessed it !!!! Looked on Allrecipes & this looked like the closest to what I used to make. I used Miracle Whip, since that's what I remember using & increased the cocoa to 1/2 cup plus 1 tble. It was fantastic. I frosted with the recipe on the back of Hersheys cocoa & it was perfect. This cake is moist & delicious !!!

Bumbleberry Pie I

Very good !! Made a 10 in pie yesterday, cutting the ingredients in half & I used my own pie crust recipe. It is wonderful!!! I added a little lemon juice & less sugar since my berries were sweet. For 1 pie, I used only 3/4 c sugar. Perfect!!. Since we are only 2 now, we sent some to our neighbors. They agreed, it's wonderful !! Thanks

Mini Apricot Cheesecakes

Very good recipe ! I've been making these for years, only I use cherry pie filling for the topping instead of preserves. Any flavor of pie filling can be substituted. They look beautiful on a platter & always go quickly when I serve them. They look prettier served in the muffin liners instead of removing them. Great recipe !!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Delicious meal ! I used low sodium cream of chicken soup, added sliced carrots & celery with the chicken and onions. Used a can of chicken broth, cooked 3 hours, then added a cup of frozen peas & topped with the biscuits. Cooked another 2 hours & it was wonderful. Some reviewers have talked of shredding the chicken, never have I ever seen it shredded in chicken and dumplings. anyway, this is a comforting meal!!!
