Red Velvet Cake I

Reviewed: May 26, 2014
The cake was absolutely AMAZING after substituting 1 cup oil for shortening 1/2 cup shortening, 2 cups sugar for 1 1/2 cups sugar, and adding an extra tablespoon of cocoa powder, which was what several other people recommended. However, the icing recipe simply did not taste good to me. I didn't have time to try out another icing recipe so I had to use store bought icing. Other than the icing though, the modified cake was perfect.

Easy Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: May 15, 2014
I agree with the other comments that about 1/2 cup less flour should be used in this recipe, and I also added an extra 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract for flavor. My dough would not stick together so I had to add some extra melted butter as well to save the recipe. I still gave these cookies four stars because, despite the dryness of using too much flour, they do taste really good. However, I think I may try a new sugar cookie recipe next time.

Righteous Raspberry Brownies

Reviewed: May 15, 2014
I'm always a bit skeptical of less tried recipes, but these really proved themselves. My family just could not stop eating them! I used Marianne's formula for self rising flour by adding 1/2 tsp salt and 1 1/2 tsp baking powder to 1 cup all-purpose flour (thanks Marianne!), regular sugar (not exactly sure what was meant by "superfine sugar"), semisweet chocolate chips, and about 2/3 a cup of fresh raspberries. They finished baking just under 40 minutes and they were perfect! I will definitely make these again.

Banana Muffins I

Reviewed: May 12, 2014
I notice people saying that these muffins are dry, but they are probably just over baking them. Mine were completely done in 10 minutes. Mine were also not at all salty. They are a bit bland, which is why they lost a star, so you should probably add an extra banana and some spices. Also, I would reduce the baking powder to about half a tablespoon. Overall they weren't bad, but they weren't my favorite. EDIT: everything I said above is true for the first couple of hours after they come out of the oven, but by the next day they are soggy, sticky, and just plain disgusting

Amazing! I used dark chocolate, but other than that I didn't change anything and these came out perfect!

Chunky Monkey Pancakes

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2014
These pancakes are pure heaven in your mouth! I used to make chocolate chip pancakes with bananas on top, but for some reason I never thought to put the bananas inside. This pancake batter incorporated just the right proportions of each ingredient to form a swirl of goodness in each bite. I would just recommend using a large spoon to scoop the batter onto the pan instead of pouring it so that your banana chunks and chocolate chips don't get left behind.

Key Lime Pie VII

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2014
Probably the best key lime pie I will ever taste! Strong lime flavor, but not overwhelming. My dad is very picky about his key lime pies, yet he couldn't help having seconds of this one! I definitely recommend this :)
