Jan's Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2011
I don't often write reviews because I often change things in the recipe and don't like to rate my changes. I made this cake as the recipe stated for a friend's birthday, and it was fantastic! Moist, almost fudgey, but not dense -- I baked in 2 8 inch round pans for 34mins. I frosted it with the "Creamy chocolate frosting" recipe from this site. YUM.

Apple Pumpkin Muffins

These were great! I used dried cranberries and one apple. Used 2c flour and 1/2c bran. Decreased the sugar to 1c and threw in a banana and a 1/2 c. Peach yogurt. Sprinkled with a bit of brn sug and some cinnamon.

Unbelievable Fish Batter

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2007
This recipe was awesome! The fish turned out so great. I used 3/4 c of milk and 3/4 c of water because the batter was too thick at first. I added salt, pepper and garlic powder to the mixture as well. I fried the fish in 1/2 an inch of vegetable oil. Everyone raved about it!

Barley Bake

I really enjoyed this recipe. I didn't use mushrooms, but sauteed zuccini and carrots first, used 1/2 pine nuts and 1/2 toasted almonds.

Love the Mama Lemon Bars

Really tasty! I doubled the recipe thinking I would make two batches, but ended up using all most of the crust and all of the filling for one. Next time I will probably only double the filling and put it in a 11x9 pan. It needs a little more confectioner's sugar as it was a little to tart for me!!

Mrs. Schaller's Sugar Cookies

I don't care for these at all. They baked up beautifully but they do not have any flavour!! I followed the recipe to a T and I don't know what happened. I'm sure they will be fine once I frost them, but kind of dissapointing. Will try a different recipe next time.
