The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2008
I'm a pretty good cook, but I've never been able to get sugar cookie recipes right - either the dough comes out too sticky or they rise too high in the middle, get burnt, etc. I thought this recipe would solve my problem, but I had the same problems.

A-Number-1 Banana Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2008
I give this recipe 5 stars for simplicity and overall nice taste. This is the recipe to make with those overripe bananas that you never got around to eating. Plus, you probably have all the ingredients at home. I baked in 9x13 at 350 for 35 minutes (I like my top a bit brown) I had a piece this morning (have kept in refrigerator for almost a week now)and it still tastes fresh - tastes like banana snack cake/muffin.

Banana Pudding IV

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2008
This is the Banana Pudding that would do real well at a potluck/get-together: 1)Because of its consistency after chilled. It will keep its form and not get runny or too messy. 2) SIMPLE and quick to make. 3) Inexpensive to make yet can feed a crowd. 4) Tastes good - no surprises

Cocoa Quickies

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2008
This is not the type of recipe that can ever really earn 5 stars - has nothing to do with the cook, it's just that there is not enough ooey gooey to it. It borders on the verge of health food for me - it's one of those recipes that kids need to make to introduce them to cooking, or one that you make when you have that can of cocoa still sitting on the shelf and need something to do with it.

Shepherd's Pie VI

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2008
This recipe gets 5 stars for being inexpensive but 4 stars for taste. I definitely will make again, but it's not the type of meal to make for company.

Gingerbread Frosting for Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2008
This was a new concept for me - didn't think to add spices to the frosting. As far as taste; it's ok, but did get real runny after one day. Probably wouldn't make again unless we weren't planning on any leftovers.

This gets Five Stars for the simplicity and 4 for taste. It was perfect for my family reunion; gobbled down immediately - looks so nice with chocolate shavings on top.

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

This is so delicious but a bit time-consuming. If you want essentially the same recipe, but in less time, use the Publix Simple Apron Recipe (from Publix Grocery Store website) - tastes pretty much the same.

Easy Indian Style Okra

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2008
I usually shy away from okra, but have been trying to incorporate more veggies into my diet, so I tried this - Much better than I had anticipated! I cut okra and soaked in vinegar/water solution, then rinsed and patted dry. The seasoning is not overpowering at all - I added 1/2 tsp salt, reduced butter to 1 Tbs., added 1/4 cup of chix broth to okra once butter was soaked up. I also added a small diced tomato. I loved it!

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies III

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2008
These are the most DELICIOUS cookies!!! I didn't have whipping cream, so used whole milk, and didn't have quick oats, so I used regular oats. I had to bake for 12 min and only added half of the liquid to the filling. Tasted crunchy, light, buttery, and delicious.

The Way to a Man's Heart

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2008
This recipe is quite delicious, but the only problem was that it costs a bit too much to make unless you serve to someone who is a seafood LOVER. My husband enjoyed it, but he enjoys meatloaf too - it was just another dinner to him.

Chicken Lasagna IV

Only used 8 oz (2 cups shredded) cheese and this was Delicious!!! It's definitely a heart-attack waiting to happen (very high fat/calories,) so I suggest to only make it for potluck for co-workers, or at home when you want to make something quick but yummy.
