Best Steak Marinade in Existence

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2010
Pretty good but too much lemon juice and need to add fresh pressed garlic.

Sopapilla Cheesecake Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2010
Very quick to put together for potluck or casual dessert, but IMO the topping had way too much sugar, was gritty, and didn't add to the flavor. Next time I'll only use 1/4 sugar in the topping and double the cinnamon. Might add thinly sliced apples on top as well. Was good for a fast cheesecake fix.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2010
Loved it! Proves that you don't have to always bust open a can of cream of mushroom soup to have a creamy dish - added one diced potato, and had to add twice the chicken broth because was a bit too thick for me. Also cheated by using a rotisserie chicken, microwaved the carrots, celery, potato in chicken broth, and used half and half instead of milk.

Slow Cooker Italian Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2010
Nice taste, but I think it tastes better when you sub a bit of beef broth and pepperoncinis. If you don't have a slowcooker uou can cook this on low for 2-3 hours on your stovetop to get the same results.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2010
I like this recipe because you can adjust it to your taste -sweet ham vs smoked ham, chicken stock vs water or bouillon, less/more butter, add a carrot if you want, a bit of half and half, etc. No way to go wrong Nice basic recipe - tastes great - easy breezy.

Perfect! Thanks so much - saved me from running to the store and buying a packet. Used sprinkle of cayenne pepper instead of red pepper flakes (didn't have any)

5 Stars for how pretty this looks when it comes out of the oven - great for potluck or casual company. 4 1/2 stars for taste - Made a second time with 2 cups chicken and 2 cups black beans. Also used less green chiles.

The glaze was very nice as was the rub. I modified by inserting pieces of garlic in the roast and doubling spices. Tasty

Tropical Grilled Pork Chops

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2009
Don't get mad that I didn't follow to a "T." I'm rating the mango sauce a 5 - I didn't try the rest of the recipe. I only used the mango sauce to make pork fajitas. Grilled some pork loin chops with salt/pepper/olive oil only, let them rest, slice julienne and then simmer for 15 min or so in the mango sauce. Stir fried some red/green pepper with onion and garli and then added to the pork mixture. Served on tortillas with rice and corn.

Apple Crunch Pie I

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2009
Perfect! I baked in a 9" square pan and followed to a "T" The only thing I would do next time is to add only 3/4 of the topping. This is a yummy apple crunch delight! Very sweet, goes great with ice cream.

Penne with Chicken and Asparagus

As written, tastes pleasant;as expected -nothing fancy. Decided to add bit of butter, onion powder, chopped onion, mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes and additional chicken broth. Picked it up a bit.

Lime Chicken Soft Tacos

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2009
These were great exactly as recipe is written; HOWEVER,here's a variation that tasted great: I used assorted pork chops, lemon juice(2 1/2 Tbs = juice of one lemon)and vidalia onion. Fried the chops 8 min each side on Med, then removed from pan. Added all remaining ingredients in recipe in addition to about 2 cups chicken broth and simmered under tight lid for about total of 40 minutes until pork fell from bone. Shredded the pork and used in tacos - I liked it just as well - maybe you will too

Skillet Pork Chops with Potatoes and Onion

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2009
This recipe is perfect for everyday cooking. I browned the onions in butter for a few minutes and only used 2 bouillon. Use enough oil to barely cover the pan when frying each side. Amazing how simple this recipe is, yet so much flavor! It was better than a 4 but not quite a 5, IMO. Keep tight lid on pan and lowest setting for heat. 35-40 miunutes is perfect cook time. Will definitely make this again!

Hamburgers and Ketchup Gravy

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2009
Nice base recipe. Made meatballs instead of patties - baked/broiled 400 degrees for 20 minutes instead of frying. Like the idea of simmering in ketchup sauce - tastes good. Next time i will add salt/pepper, minced garlic, beef bouillon, and green pepper/onion to the meat mixture

Potato Latkes I

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2009
These were good; however, when I made the recipe exactly as written, I found it to be too much egg, too much salt, not enough taste, and too greasy. I found that the recipe tasted better when I used 1 bag of Simply Potatoes Shredded, 4 eggs, 2 tsp salt, 1/4 cup onion, and only added oil on a as needed basis. Cooked on a griddle on med-low.
