Barbeque Pork Two Ways

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2003
Not too bad. Very easy. I made it on the stove, and only used 1/2 the ketchup. It was just a bit salty, but will definately make it again. Thanks.

Brisket with BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2003
Absolutely wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!! I cut the liquid smoke down quite a bit, because I was afraid it would be a bit overpowering. I am glad I did. The last hour of cooking, my husband took over because I was away. He put some baby carrots and peeled potatoes in with the sliced meat (after adding the bbq sauce). They came out yummy and gave a good harty flavor to the beef. I think we liked this recipe best because of the bbq sauce. We are not big fans of bottled bbq sauce, and this was full of flavor without being so icky sweet. Thanks sooooo much. This is definately a keeper and a great one for company!

Adobo Sirloin

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2003
WOW! This is an excellent recipe! Thanks. I tried something similar in the "Chili's" cookbook, and it didn't come out near as good... it was also much more complicated to put together. This recipe was so simple and I had everything I needed on hand. This will definately become a regular at our house!

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2003
My husband gave me the "thumb's-up" for this recipe! He is not a big meatloaf fan, but I think I have changed his mind! It was easy, and very moist and tasty. I think next time I might add a little garlic or garlic salt in place of the salt... otherwise, I wouldn't change a thing. If you don't like it so sweet, you could probably replace the brown sugar and ketchup for just about anything. Thanks for this great recipe!

Barbecued Beef

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2002
Fantastic! Don't like the way my crockpot cooks things so I put it in the oven... 350 for an hour, reduced heat to 225 and left it for 3 hours. Shredded it, and put it back in for another hour. Came out PERFECT! Thanks!

Southwestern Turkey Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2002
WOW! This is perfect! A nice "kick" to leftover thanksgiving! I am not real fond of turkey soup... so this is a great change from the norm. Thanks! I didn't use avocado, but threw in a can of rinsed black beans! Served it with quasadillas.

Basic Ham and Bean Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2002
"Make sure you give this one 5 STARS", my husband says! Terrific recipe!! Sometimes the simple recipes are the best. I soaked the beans in water, but cooked them in chicken broth. This is the only change I made to this recipe. Thanks so much for this great classic!

Broccoli Beef I

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2002
Easy... Yummy! I followed other's suggestions and used top sirloin steak... sliced it thin while it was still a bit frozen. I also added a handfull (will use 2-3 handfulls next time) of small mushrooms. I put the broccoli in the last 2 minutes, because we like it a bit crunchy and not overcooked. Thanks for this super easy recipe!

Aussie Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2002
This was ok. Maybe it was just a combination our family is not fond of. If I was to make it again, I would cook the bacon just a bit before adding it to the dish.

Barbequed Pork Ribs

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2002
Excellent! Easy to prepare ahead of time. I used boneless pork ribs and they came out great. I wrapped them tightly in foil before putting them on the grill... so they steamed instead of cooked on the outside. Kept them moist.

Sausage Bean Soup

This was very good, and very easy. Made a couple of adjustments. I used small white beans (don't like butter beans). I also added 1 tsp. garlic salt and a splash of tabasco.

Easy Peach Crisp I

Easy... and YUMMY! Thanks so much for this great recipe! Make sure to serve it with vanilla ice cream! Side note: I also cut down the sugar to 2/3 total, but I think I will even cut it down more next time... to 1/2 total.

Angel's Old Fashioned Beef Stew

Very Good, Very Easy! Needed just a bit more salt, and of course my husband had to "kick it up" with a bit of crushed red peppers. Great comfort food!

Light Oat Bread

Wonderful, light, soft texture. The kids went wild over it... I made a second loaf for the freezer and got it out the next day after the first one disappeared so quickly! I added an extra tablespoon of brown sugar and swapped 1/2 cup white flour for 1/2 cup whole wheat flour! This is a KEEPER!

Excellent! Husband LOVED it. He is planning on making this recipe for his hunting buddies using elk meat. Loads of flavor! We did add a dash of red pepper flakes for a little kick!
