Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2007
These were great.... although way too many chocolate chips. Think I'll cut it down to at least 1 1/2 cups next time. Was unsure about using melted butter - but it worked out great. I let it cool just a bit. I also added room temp eggs. I did put it in the fridge for more than a hour before baking. Came out perfectly.

Best Bread Machine Bread

Make this at least once a week. Great bread for sandwiches. We especially like to use it for french toast.

Easy Garlic Broiled Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2007
Super easy. The kids loved it! Baked it @ 375º for approximately 45 minutes, basted every 15. Put the skin side down first, then turned the last 15 minutes to crisp the skin. Thanks.

Garlic Yeast Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2007
Was good, nice texture. Everyone liked it but it didn't get huges raves. Made it into a french bread type loaf. Let it rise for 30 minutes, brushed it with egg and baked it 375º for 20 minutes. Beautiful loaf. Thanks.

Easy Biscuit Mixture

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2007
I make this 1/2 batch at a time - once a week. We love this better than krusteaz pancake mix. Have only used it for pancakes and waffles so far, but it is by far the best! Pancakes 2 cups mix, 1 1/3 cups milk, 1 egg, dash of vanilla. Waffles, 2 cups mix, 1 1/4 cups milk, 2 eggs, 2 T oil & dash of vanilla. Perfect every time! Thanks. This is a staple ingredient in our house.

Sturdy Whipped Cream Frosting

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2007
Super easy to make. I cut the recipe in 1/2 for a batch of cupcakes. I used powdered sugar, but next time will try white sugar as the recipe calls... wasn't as sweet as we would have liked. Would be perfect for a dip for fruit or as a binder for fruit salad.

Tandoori Chicken II

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2007
We would give this 10 stars if we could. I doubled the maranade, and ended up only doing 2 chicken breasts. I'd still just double it for 4 breasts. Instead of water I used plain yogurt. The chicken sat in the fridge for maybe an hour before going on the grill. I served it with coconut rice, hummus, yogurt sauce, cucumbers, grilled peppers, and feta cheese. We are doing this again for dinner, although this time I am making peppys pita bread (on this site) and make some nice sandwiches with this chicken. Thanks for the recipe.

Chicken-Baked Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2007
I'll have to admit, I kind of made a combination of this recipe and Baked Pork Chops I. They were both similar, but tended to lean towards this one, adding milk instead of water, as well as 1/4 cup white wine. Absolutely fantastic! My whole family loved them. Made mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli, and dinner was done in an hour - easily! This is purely comfort food! Thanks!

Sean's Falafel and Cucumber Sauce

A little bit of work, but well worth it. Way better then packaged mix. Goes well with peppy's pita bread.... also easy to make.

Bread Machine Bagels

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2007
Must have done something wrong. Dough was very dry and wouldn't roll into balls, therefore my bagels turned out lumpy and doughy. Quite ugly too. Might come out better a second time if I watched the flour more closely, but a little too much work to bother.

Peppy's Pita Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2007
This came out perfect the first time, a flop the second. I used 1 cup whole wheat flour in the first batch, and all white in the second. The second batch was a little sticky and never "poofed" in the oven. Will substitute 1 cup whole wheat flour from now on.

Excellent. Followed the recipe to a "T" and it came out perfect. Could have eaten the whole pan myself. Good "comfort food".

Broccoli and Stilton Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2006
Fantastic and simple. You really have to be a fan of blue cheese to like this. I added a minced clove of garlic about 30 seconds before adding the vegetables. Don't forget to season with salt and pepper. When adding the cheese, I added a dash of red pepper flakes to give it a little bite. It was perfect. Must have some chewy, crusty bread to dip with. Fantastic! Thanks.

Raspberry and Almond Shortbread Thumbprints

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2006
So good. Followed suggestions and chilled cookies just before baking. Made them small, about 1" and they came out perfect. Also used a chapstick (wrapped in plastic wrap) to make my "dimples". Worked perfect. Watch the time carefully. I baked mine only about 13 minutes tops. Cool just a bit before drizzling on glaze. Beautiful cookie! Thanks

After-Thanksgiving Turkey Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2006
This was a nice creamy change to a traditional turkey soup. I cut the recipe in 1/2 and adapted it beause I didn't boil down the carcass. Even cutting it down by 1/2 made more than enough for my family of five. Definately a "comfort food" soup!

Classic Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2006
Even my kids love these. Only needed 12-13 minutes in the oven. Rounded my 2/3 cup brown sugar and I probably put more like 1 tsp. vanilla. Added craisins instead of raisins because thats what I had on hand. Perfect. Might add some walnuts next time too. This is a versatile recipe. Thanks.

Basil Shrimp

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2006
Mmmmm. Love this! Simmered it in the marinade with about 1/4 cup white wine as another suggested. Shrimp only need to be in the sauce 4-5 minutes tops. I also added a chopped fresh tomato because I had it. It made for a very colorful dish.
