This was great! I loved the taste of the pumpkin with the thin crust. Perfect! We will definitely make this over and over.

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2011
I followed the recipe exactly as written. These were the most bland biscuits I have ever made. I do not understand all the rave reviews. I will not be making these again.

Bread Pudding

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2010
This recipe is fabulous! I doubled it and used a 9x13 pan. I did need to cook it about 15 minutes longer. I used a cinnamon type bread, which gave it a lot of flavor. This recipe is going to be my "go to" recipe for bread pudding.

Finnish Pulla

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2010
We really like this bread. I LOVE cardamom and this bread is so soft. I followed another's advice and doubled the cardamom, which I am glad I did because I don't think I would have tasted it otherwise. I also made it into two large cinnamon roll logs and baked them on stoneware, I didn't have any problem with burning. They baked beautifully. We ate one of the logs and used the other for bread pudding, which was the best I have ever had. Wonderful recipe!

Truck-Stop Buttermilk Pancakes

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2009
I do not understand the great reviews. I followed this recipe exactly and got very bland pancakes that had an eggy texture. I will not make these again, I would have to change to much.

Buttery Soft Pretzels

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2009
These had a great texture and I will make these again. With that said, these were awfully sweet. I will be cutting the sugar down the next time I make them.

Baked Oatmeal II

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2009
First off, let me say that the serving size is about right on, at least in my house. I have 5 kids, three of which are just hitting their teenage years. They eat more than a five year old would. So, I doubled the recipe for my family of 7. Things that I changed based on other reviews: 1. I used half the amount of sugar. I agree that 1 Cup is way to much. 2. I used half the amount of butter and added in 1/4 Cup apple sauce instead. I like the taste of butter in my oatmeal, but I think this can be accomplished with a little bit instead of a lot. I am giving this 4 stars because of the changes I had to make. It was a very good recipe, just needed a little less sweetener.

Crispy Potato Pancakes

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2009
These were very tasty. My husband and I really like crispy hashbrowns and these fit the bill perfectly. I used butter instead of vegetable oil to fry them in and then let them drain on some paper towel for a few minutes. This is a keeper.

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2008
This was a good recipe. Not exactly like the stuff in the packet, but close enough. I really like that there are no weird artificial ingredients in it.

Lana's Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2007
I have never made the meatballs in this recipe. The sauce is wonderful though. I do find it easier to buy meatballs and just throw the sauce over them. One tip: reserve the 1/3 cup water and whisk the cornstarch in with it. This way the cornstarch won't clump when you add it in.

Southwestern Egg Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2007
Very Yummy. I did add some chopped ham steak. Updated: I have made this a lot. I have substituted almond flour/meal for the flour for those that have gluten problems and it was still really good. We actually prefer it with the almond flour/meal. I have added sausage, bacon, ham steak and it comes out really yummy. I made this for the entire family on Thanksgiving this year and my Grandmother couldn't stop eating it.

Aussie Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2007
These taste fantastic. I followed the recipe exactly. I wouldn't change a thing. I gave it four stars because it took longer to cook in the oven than the time listed. I have made this 4 times now and each time I have to let it cook for almost 40 minutes.

I never knew that this had a name until I moved to Utah. My husband's family uses this sauce for dipping artichokes.

Bread Pudding II

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2007
I have made this recipe twice. I have doubled it both times because I have a large family. It has really good flavor. The first time, I followed the recipe exactly and it ended up a bit dry. The only part that was moist was the center. The second time, I substituted brown sugar for the white sugar. It ended up really moist, almost too moist. I do plan on making this again and I will use half brown and half white sugar. I also let it sit for about 30 minutes to soak up some of the liquid. I would like to have it sit over night, but I forget to. :)

Vegetable Quiche Cups to Go

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2007
This is a very yummy easy dish to make. I didn't alter at all. We love spinach so it was perfect. My entire family loves this one. I usually serve it with some cooked canadian bacon. I even keep some already cooked in the fridge for snacks during the day. My 8 month old also likes it. I mush it up for her and she gobbles it up. Definately a winner.

Spinach Stuffed Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2007
This was fantastic. I followed this recipe to a "T" except for one thing. I flattened the breasts and spread the cheese mixture over it and then rolled it. There was filling all throughout. I did have one of my kids not like it, but the other 3 loved it. So, I would suggest that you make sure you like Feta Cheese first and then make this dish. You probably won't like this if you don't like Feta.

Split Pea and Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2006
This recipe was fantastic. My kids even liked it. I use low sodium broth. I never add salt to this recipe. The sausage and chicken broth is already plenty salty. If I use regular broth then it becomes to salty.

Slow Cooker Taco Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2006
Me and my kids love this recipe. The flavor is awesome. I have made this recipe alot and I have tried it doing different things. It comes down to this: Instead of 1 package taco seasoning use 1 1/2. If you want more of a stew then leave out the water. To serve, put tortilla chips on the bottom of bowl with some cheese and add soup. The cheese melts real nice. Add sour cream to top.
