Turkey Goulash

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2011
This was very good, but I added green bell pepper and some Italian seasoning like Basil and Oregano. I didn't have bow tie pasta so just used what I had on hand which was penne

Fried Pork Chop

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2011
This is a great recipe and I've made it several times with great success. I leave it in the fridge for about 30 mins to an hour and add garlic powder and some oregano to the flour.

Red, White 'n' Blue Torte

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2008
This is super easy and fresh for a summer day. It didn't look great because the sauce dripped all over, but it tasted fine. I added more whipped cream with each serving. I would definitely make it again.

Pork Chops a la Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2009
This did not turn out. I didn't brown them first and that might have helped. They were dry and had very little flavor. I fried them after I took them out and that didn't help either. I used Cream of Celery soup and 1/2 cup stock. Next time, I would just fry the pork chops instead of wasting time getting them right in the crockpot.

Herb Biscuits

These were fantastic. I loved everything about the biscuits. Try to chop the fresh herbs as small as you can.

Oh So Tender Brisket

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2008
This one turned out fantastic and fell apart. Rachel doesn't like onion, but it didn't look like the onion was noticeable. It took less time than the recipe said, but about an hour. Watch it closely.

Blackberry Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2011
This recipe is fantastic. It is a little too dense, so I added whipped cream after they were done. I used 1/4 cup sugar and added to mix. Also, it was better to chop the oatmeal first to make them smaller and more powdery. I didn't have pumpkin pie spice, so I added apple pie spice. Turned out great with the Cool Whip.

Blueberry Dump Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2010
It tastes good, but I ended up with large clumps of dry cake mix on top. I would use more butter next time and wished I had read the reviews first. The taste was still great, but it was hard to get past the dry clumps and the liquid that pooled at the bottom of the pan. Would try it again, but would use 1 cup of butter or mix the butter with the cake mix before putting it over the blueberries.

Red Velvet Cake III

I used butter instead and it turned out great! Everyone loved this one. I would use regular buttercream frosting next time.

Bread Machine Focaccia

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2009
This is a fantastic and easy bread. The entire family loved it and we dipped it in olive oil with cracked pepper. Next time I'll put salt on top to add a little more flavor, but it was already fantastic.

Twelve Minute Pasta Toss

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2009
Good, but needed more moisture. Add 1/2-1 cup chicken broth. Also added pesto. May use a different pesto sauce.

Busy Day Barbeque Brisket

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2008
This was ok. I didn't leave enough time for this one to be on low, but had to put it on high. It was still ok, but I think it would be better if it had sat on low for 8 hours. Everyone loved it and thought it was great. I made two briskets today. The other one done in the oven looked better but it might have been the cut. Still, this was very good.

Italian Wedding Cookies III

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2010
These were FABULOUS. I did soften the butter a bit before I started mixing it and followed the directions exactly as shown. I wouldn't change a thing. My experience was that it was easier to cover them in powdered sugar when they were room temperature rather than warm as others have said. Only two cookies broke apart, but I happily ate my mistakes. I will defintely be making these again.

Slow Cooker Lasagna

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2008
This was good, but the time in the crock pot was too long. I would say four hours at most for this one. Worth another try. Everyone liked it once I removed the top layer which was hard and crusty and overcooked.

Slow Cooker Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2007
This was great stuffing. I used the packaged bread cubes instead of regular bread and it was very easy to make in the slow cooker. I buttered the inside and would recommend that. It made the entire house smell great.

Juicy Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2013
This was the best chicken recipe I've done without a cooking bag. I did use the tips from other reviewers and added my usual spices to add flavor and the taste was fantastic and the chicken was juicy. I used "light" butter and my chicken was about 4 or 4.5 lbs. I will definitely make this again.
