Carbonara

This is one of our favorites. Racheal Ray makes this for her husband. It was one of their favorites. Abram always asks for seconds.

Frozen Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2007
I tried this recipe and it turned out fantastic! Try to use the freshest blueberries possible for best taste. I didn't change a thing and likely will keep it this way the next time I make it. Try to eat them while they're still hot. They're not too sweet and have just the right of amount of flavor.

Carol's Butter Pecan Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2007
This cake was good, but I used wheat flour and it made it more dense and dry. It wasn't as popular as the pies. I would use regular flour next time and would make sure to buy a sifter to sift the flour first.

Slow Cooker Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2007
This was great stuffing. I used the packaged bread cubes instead of regular bread and it was very easy to make in the slow cooker. I buttered the inside and would recommend that. It made the entire house smell great.

Brussels Sprouts Bake

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2007
These were good, but not everyone likes brussel sprouts. I would make it again, but not a very big batch.

Perfect Turkey

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2007
I used only part of this recipe for my 2007 Thanksgiving turkey. I used the part to stuff the inside of the turkey cavity, and used the rosemary and olive oil recipe for the outside. It was fantastic and very moist. See Rosemary turkey recipe for the other details.

Rosemary Roasted Turkey

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2007
This turned out great. I used the Rosemary mixture to the outside of the bird and the Perfect Turkey recipe for the inside of the bird. It was fanastic and moist. Everyone loved it.

Zucchini Brownies

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2008
It tasted "healthy" to me, meaning that it didn't taste like I was having dessert. It was dry and didn't look appetizing. (A user issue, I'm sure) I don't think I used enough zucchini. Next time, I will use more to try to step up the moistness factor.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: May 22, 2008
We got busy and I left this meal in the crockpot too long. Be careful not to add too much salt. My broth was not as creamy as the photo. May need to thicken with flour or corn starch. Make sure biscuits only stay in for 30 mins.

Flank Steak with Red Wine and Oven Fries

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2008
It was a little tough. I would use this in the winter when you can't grill. Grilling and marinating steak is still best. The oven fries are awesome!

Crescent Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2008
Made this for Michelle Penson's birthday party. It turned out great. I used the "appetizer" recipe. It is very rich, high in calories, but it went very fast at the party.

Paula Deen's Pinepple Goo Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2008
Made this for Michelle Penson's birthday party. It turned out great. I needed to bake it quite a bit longer than the recipe called for. make sure to cover it before refrigerating or the coconut gets hard and crusty. Very good for summer dessert.

Classic Italian Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2008
It was ok. It was a lot better when I put extra mayonnaise in it. I had to double the dressing recipe and after that it was still insipid. It definitely needed pepper, maybe some paprika, and extra mayonnaise.

Creamy Lemon Squares

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2008
This was a good tasty recipe. It makes only a little, but you can cut them into very little slices. I didn't use the parchment paper. It was too much of a mess. I just served them from the pan, or I would take them out individually and place them on a platter. It's great for summer and I would make it again.

Red Beans and Rice

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2008
This was absolutely delicious and easy to make. I cooked the sausage in a little olive oil before adding it to the beans. I left the beans on longer than the designated time and it was needed. It took a while for the beans to become soft.

Red, White 'n' Blue Torte

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2008
This is super easy and fresh for a summer day. It didn't look great because the sauce dripped all over, but it tasted fine. I added more whipped cream with each serving. I would definitely make it again.
