Yummy Honey Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2012
We have been making this for years, and it is one of our favorite summer recipes. The vegetables, of course, can be altered to what you have on hand, but the marinade is what makes this recipe so good.

Zucchini Patties

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2010
These are really, really good, perhaps one of the best ways I have found to deal with the late-summer zucchini explosion in my garden. Our family will be eating this regularly.

Broccoli Chicken Casserole II

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2010
I read a review below and was intrigued by the modifications, but honestly, it was not good and I wished I would have stuck to the original. And no, too much curry can be a bad thing, contrary to what others may think, especially if you have family members who are not sold on curry flavor in the first place. Try the original recipe first before you modify!

Mexican Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2009
An easy and very tasty dish. The only thing I added was a can of pinto beans, otherwise it was great as is. Kids thought it was awesome. This dish will become a regular item in the winter.

Old-Fashioned Green Beans

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2009
Awesome recipe. I am not a fan of green beans usually, but I'd eat this anytime. Even my kids, who are (like most kids) not big on veggies, ate these up. My only regret is I didn't make more!

Ramen Cabbage Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2009
This is pretty much what I remembered, except next time I will reduce the oil by half. It was a bit oily for my personal taste, but otherwise, it's a good recipe.

Italian Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2009
Excellent soup. I made the recipe as written and it delivered. Other than omitting the salt, I wouldn't change a thing- it's great as is.

African Chicken Stew

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2009
I was a bit skeptical of this recipe based on the hit-and-miss reviews, but I thought it was great. I did make some changes: substituted chicken broth for water, omitted red pepper (since my kids don't like heat), added the peanut butter to taste (which ended up being about 2/3 c.), and added 3/4 c. carrots and 2 ribs of celery to the saute pan. I ate it over rice, but found that it is so thick that it will work better all by itself as a 1-pot stew. It got rave reviews from the whole family and I suspect it will become a regular item in our house. Well done.

Venison Fajitas

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2009
The fajita seasoning was off. It was way too salty and the flavors weren't consistent with fajitas I have had in the past- perhaps less seasoned salt and some cumin would help tremendously. I'm not sure we'll have this again. Sorry.

Dutch Potatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2008
Great recipe. I added bacon in addition to the other ingredients. A great way to fool kids into eating veggies they might not normally eat. The kids, by the way, loved it too.

Stuffed Tomato Basil Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2008
Outstanding recipe all around. I have substituted fresh mozzarella for the provolone and it was just as good, if not better.

Baked Penne with Italian Sausage

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2008
A fantastic recipe, and a unanimous hit with everyone in the house. I used fresh garlic instead of in the can, and added oregano and basil. Beyond that, I wouldn't change anything.

Absolute Mexican Cornbread

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2007
Really good, though the sheer fat content of this recipe will prevent me from making this more than once in a while. I'm sure you could cheat this recipe with half the butter and maybe some light cheddar etc. without any negative effects. Good recipe overall.

Dee's Roast Pork for Tacos

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2007
Great pork. We put it in the slow cooker for 8 hours on LOW and it turned out great. We did not have any issues with drying out, in fact, we had plenty of liquid left over (we added none). I would recommend this to anyone.

Golden Rum Cake

This turned out very well. We used a top notch rum in this, and it showed, but really a good name brand dark rum would have been just as good.

This far exceeded my expectations, though truthfully, I wasn't sure what to expect. Everyone in the house and at the party we served them at felt the same. Outstanding recipe.
