My cooking triumphs
I love making anything Japanese! Quite a few years ago, I gave a cooking lesson for my daughter's Girl Scout troop and a sister troop and was thrilled at the level of interest from the girls. We made our rice in a zojirushi rice cooker and made California rolls, then made azuki red bean ice cream all from scratch. The girls went home with bamboo mats and small bags of ingredients so they could create at home. One of the girls made lovely Japanse creations for her family all that year.
My cooking tragedies
So many, I couldn't imagine where to start. I had no cooking guidance until I enrolled in principles of cooking one at Kings. I Love reading cookbooks and would become so inspired, and actually think I could cook . We had my in laws over for dinner, early in our marriage, and the roast chicken looked beautiful until we cut into it (of course at the table). I was so horrified to see it was actually bordering on the raw side that I knocked over a bottle of wine (red, of course) in my eagerness to reach for the chicken platter, thinking I could wisk it unnoticed back into the kitchen with a feminine little ha ha, oh no, the wine was managing to spread all over the table threatening everyone's lap, in their effort to escape, we overturned the table.....the dog needed a bath, because he, of course, was under the table. After sandwiches in the kitchen, and several bottles of wine, we managed to laugh about it, but I was beginning to think I could benefit from a bit of instruction.

Miso and Soy Chilean Sea Bass
We found this recipe easy to prepare and delicious! The sea bass melts in your mouth and this marinade gives it fabulous, but not overwhelming flavor.

Marshmallow Squares
Amazing! Always wanted to make marshmallows and the crumb shortbread bottom set it off beautifully with a slight almond taste. A real keeper. I photographed the many steps, so worth the effort.
